I have just ordered from Kawasaki UK a top box with Colour matched insert. I'm a bit miffed now as I have just learned that this box is a Monolock, not Monokey. Being the official box I would have thought they would have used the monokey, being the better system. Paid £247.00 and a tad disappointed, should have purchased a Givi Monokey and got the lid painted to match the bike.
Should have asked here first
My bike came with the topbox, I rode home, took it off and put it in the loft. However mine is Green.

So did mine.........nice colour the green don't you think Mr Doebag
It's a £47 box and a £200 lid. ,,,,,, :mfr_lol:
Marcus, if you've just ordered it.....cancel it. There are better boxes out there.

Hi marcus.
I picked up a brand new givi V46 monokey for £145.00 fro a site called easyrider Europe. ( who are Honda in Stafford ).
they sell various sizes new and ex display.
Just remember to be careful about fastening anything to the plastic carrier at the rear of the bike. We've had a couple of reports where this broke whilst riding (Kwak box). My Shad uses a metal plate to fasten to the rails or you can use some aftermarket replacement carrier made of metal.
Yup lost my case on my 09

I purchased the sw motech plate for the V46 monokey top box its powder coated machined aluminium and for £10 extra all in I think it was £145 delivered it has the box fittings on no need for the adaptor plate just swap with the standard plastic one on the bike ( use the same four fixing bolts ) a bit dearer but I think it looks better somewhere on here there are picture or Google heroblobs .

Yes, ,definitely....DEFINITELY ditch the original plastic carrier rack. Mine broke last week, being chased down the road by my own top box was not fun.
i had 4 x GTRs used the same box and base plate, fully loaded in all kinds of terrain have done in xs of 80,000 Miles and never has come off / loose / unstable so i would say a good top case all in all. I do know that Givi make the Kwak top box and it is a copy of their 'SIMPLY' Design ( as Nightrider has pointed out the original price ).
I plan on using the case on my latest bike ( z1000sx ) as soon as i have a rack.

I have mounted a Peli 1400 case to the original rack.
I only wanted a small case as I seldom carry pillion and hate the buffeting from a big topcase. I use it for odds and sods, helmet cleaner/rag, tools, chargers etc. Being a Peli case its hard as nails, and totally waterproof. Personally, I think it suits the bike, but I might remove the handle one day. Its permanently fixed with 4 x M8 stainless bolts drilled through the base of the peli case which line up with the slots on the rack. Cost about £90 altogether. You can put padlocks on each side but I don't bother as I don't leave anything of any value in it.
I'm trying to post a pic up. but my htc one is refusing to talk to the pc at the moment.

I Finally managed it. Just to give an idea of scale. Hope this works as I'm not massively great with computers.
It took me a while to focus in on the Peli case because of all the clutter in your garage. :mfr_lol: Now that I can see it, it looks fine, I used to have one for my camera gear, & they're as strong as an ox.

Grass doesn't grow on a busy street, nor do innovations happen in a tidy garage! :gun_bandana:
