I've completed the very excellent scroll modification on my 2009 GTR1400. What a thoroughly brainiac idea, jumped on that one like a fat boy on cake. I too lost my TPS for a little while but they came back. What I also lost is my trip meters and don't seem to be able to get them back. Has this happened to anyone else who has done this mod.? How do I fix it. I definately didn't overheat the pc board when I soldered on the wire and I followed the instructions to the letter, how could you not with such an excellently laid out procedure. HELP!!!
TPS is like that. It goes and then comes back.
Did you try disconnecting the power totally?
Yep just done that, gave it a good 20 minutes while finished getting the dirt magnets off to school. No luck unfortunately. Now I'll go back over my install and check all the connections and the earth. After that I'll be at a loss. I really REALLY want this mod. to work as it's such an excellent idea (and I've drilled that hole in the switch block) So do you have any more suggestions?......... PLEASE!
Ok, get ready to nominate me for the SHOTY (Shit Head Of The Year) Award! After having that trouble with my modification and no luck using the helpful suggestions from others, I retraced my installation steps to find that I'd soldered the wires onto the switch backwards. Instead of the switch giving a momentary "on" signal, it was getting a continual "on"signal hence the other buttons not working. So, after swapping around the positions of the wires on the switch, HAPPINESS!. Everything works just fine HOORAY!!
So SHOTY for me? Or good on me for being able to diagnose it myself? I'll leave it up to all of you.

not sure how you can solder them on backwards?
:whistling: I thought you'd said you followed the instructions to the letter...... :mfr_lol:
Think Drugless means he's using a two way switch Asif and soldered onto the N/C contacts instead of the N/O maybe? :mfr_lol:

The one I use at work all the time is PICNIC. We always get the test team raising stupid defects. My stock answer is always PICNIC.
Problem In Chair Not In Computer
Yes I freely admit it was my cock up, I never thought there was a normally closed side to a momentary switch. Just goes to show what can happen when a semi educated crane driver gets a soldering iorn in his hands..
At least you can use a soldering iron. I got my nephew to solder mine
At work (IT support) we use PEBKAC. Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair. :-)
I prefer the old Army one though. SNAFU. <LOL>
