Warms me heart, it does....

Also saw a C5 in the background...probably carrying the ground crews for the BUFFs.
Several helicopters , very large planes and jets flew over me today in Lincolnshire.....One looked like a B52 flanked by jets..but I'm no plane spotter
I guess they were on their way back from a Normandy fly past......
Aye, one of them was slated for that activity. One of the US bases my dad was stationed at was Westover, 99th Bomb Wing. Lots of B-52s. We used to go to the end of the runway and feel them come in for landings and take offs. They were in camo then for eventual deployment to Vietnam.

Probably an RAF Voyager (Airbus A330) practicing for Queen's birthday on 14th. A B52 has 8 engines an Airbus has 2 :-) unless it's an A380. "Dr Strangelove" is a humorous film with the big Boeing.
A classic film.....................................

You know, I don't think I remember much about that film except the last bit with Slim Pickens riding the bomb down out of the bomb bay. I'll have to watch it again.

I like his description of the survival ration pack :mfr_lol:
I didn't realise they 4 point the Buff on landing Jim and that 1st landing bounced real good :mfr_lol:
I think one of them bounced twice. Any landing that you can walk away from is good...
