Got the above that I'm going to fit to my GTR instead of the current Kawasaki top box, anyone know the which top plate I would require?
you will need a monokey universal plate, which is basically a flate plate that bolts to your gtr plate .
if you want something more sturdy then you will need a sw motech plate or a phils farkle plate that are metal. the v46 box is much heavier and larger than the Kawasaki one, it will carry more weight than your stock plate was designed for so it will flap around a bit more, the Kawasaki plate cant even hold the Kawasaki standard box tight

below is a metal plate from motech, a lot more expensive and its a combination of your existing gtr plate and the monokey plate that you would normally bolt to it

Before you go buying a plate just double check to ensure that the V46 you have bought is MONOKEY not MONOLOCK as they are not interchangeable :wink:

Hi Birdpilot.
I purchased the sw motech plate for the V46 monokey top box its powder coated machined aluminium and for £10 extra all in I think it was £145 delivered it has the box fittings on no need for the adaptor plate just swap with the standard plastic one on the bike ( use the same four fixing bolts ) a bit dearer but I think it looks better.if your not in a rush you will see it at the belfry.

The one I have described is in the bottom picture viper posted notice the round lugs close to the seat they are the monokey fitting and the block on the rear is where the lock connects no need for the adaptor plate and looks good when not using the box :yes:

Yes mate another fellow makes them in the states and ships them 5 or 10 a time to Jon who's able to sell a bit cheaper with postage just tell him what you want with or without the fittings ( £10 ) money well spent I think.
