Hey Zeb,
As you know it can get very expensive buying a new seat...
But......
You could try my trick.
The stock seat with an aftermarket cover. I recovered my own seat, but tried different padding and sculptured shape until i found one that is personal to me.
Result is, some old sofa foam shaped to my arse, covered with a hand towel cut to shape for sturdiness then with aftermarket cover to make it look nice...
Hope that helps.

I've fitted a Top Sellerie (non - gel) seat to my 2012 GTR. I see that you live near to Norwich, I am a couple of miles from Watton and you are welcome to come and have a sit on mine if it helps!

Apart from the price! :mfr_lol:
For the price, the Top Sellerie seat is excellent in my opinion. Me and the Mrs just did 2500 miles around france, biggest stint 560 miles with no numb bums in 7 days riding.
Obviously there are even better seats out there, it all depends on your budget.
Good luck
@ Ant thanx is yours standard height no gel etc as I am gonna try flatfour's and stoketim's on for size?

Theres no Gel, just standard filling but lowered rider seat......I paid around 200 euro i think as I kept my original seat......it was one that was on offer.
Lowered and comfy then a standard should be plenty for my boney ass :)

i have to agree http://www.topsellerie.co.uk/. ok i had to get a short ass one but well made and with gel front and back. you can even get heated if ya ass needs it :P
In the mean time I ordered a Ultimate Bead-Rider seat cover from the US as was just under £60 including all taxes, so far seams good distribution of weight without the sinking into the seat. Only done 100mile stint on it so far so the GTR meet will be a good test for it :)

Even though I've now got a Topsellerie, I still have my sheepskin pad for before and still use it on long journeys, can't beat a bit of Larry.... http://www.lambland.co.uk/item/2594/genuine-sheepskin-motorcycle-seat-pad---lambland---black-or-natural

:agree: Buying into the exclusive BMW lifestyle can seriously damage your wallet :mfr_lol:
Exclusive? They are common as muck in Belgium and Luxembourg. I drove 700 miles over there last Fri/Sat and saw loads of 1600's but not a single GTR. The 1600 is nearly as common as the GSs these days. Is a good bike though if yer rich. :-)

I'm a member of the NEG (National Escort Group) for cycle race marshaling, and I have noticed there are three bikes that dominate our ranks, ST1300, K16 and 1400GTR.
All excellent machines and it says something on the subject of comfort...

Debs I asked Zeb the exact same question last weekend, his answer made perfect sense. I know Kevin uses two sat navs on his bike whilst he's doing these torturous rides.
Zeb, I thought you were ditching one of the bottles, are you sure two will be enough? :whistling:
I use 2 satnavs in my car. Its briliant. One is in Radar mode, searching for whatever i need. Hotel of fuel or what ever the other is for navigation.

Go Pro charging station charges whilst a Go Amateur charging station does not. The Pro is much better at what it does as opposed to the Amateur version. My advice would be to go with the Pro version...

When I got to Normandy on Friday I noticed a crease in the side of the seat, when I press down in that area I can now feel the base, only slightly mind you, but still can't be right after a year.
So I contacted Top Sellerie and I'm off to the factory tomorrow as it's only 45 km down the road from where I'm staying ! Bonus.
We keep you all posted on the outcome...

I arrived at the Top Sellerie factory to be greeted with non English speaking staff.... after the initial language barrier was overcome with phone calls to a distributor ......they said the original must be faulty and swopped it for a New one.............Result.
So 10 /10 for the company and customer service, very fortunate I was in the area to be able to cut out the return postage.
Happy bunny then :) nice looking seat and can :)
