Title: Tyre pressure sensors failed
Post by: PRD on May 16, 2014, 08:06:29 PM
Hi all both my tyre pressure sensors have failed simultaneously which seems a bit strange. I have had no low battery warnings either. Fortunately I have an extended warranty. However my local dealer no longer does kawasaki. The nearest one appears to be Lloyd cooper in Watford does any one have experience of them. Are they any good. Thanks in advance.

ive no real experience with TPS other than changing batteries in them , but I can tell you that's its very likely to be a problem within your ECU , sounds like they will need reprogramming which Kawasaki have to do.

let us know how you get on , a new one me thinks

Took mine out years ago. More trouble then they are worth. Still have them in the shed somewhere.

spck111,if you take the sensors out and just put normal tyre valves in ,does anything flash up on the dash
thanks

once the TPS has been removed and the ECU can no longer see it , the display just shows a dash where the actual PSI was shown, so no , your dash display will be ok .

Hi Peter, was good to meet up yesterday.
From what I hear Lloyd Cooper are pretty good w.r.t. servicing and warranty work.
Someone on here was singing their praises a few months ago.

That's good to know as I might put puncture safe in then as I always used to run it before on other bikes
