Hi all need some advice please came home from a ride out put bike in my garage turned bike off and I can't get the key out of the ignition tried all the positions but no joy it's always come out before many thanks andy.b
The stove key? Is there a particular reason you're trying to get it out
Yes can't get into my panniers I have not got a spare key on my fob not had the bike long it's second hand asked the bike shop and he said that's as it came.
Andy, you need to have your fob close as if to start bike again. Turn on ignition and then turn it all the way clockwise. Remove key. I think you may be switching off anti-clockwise maybe?
Ok thanks will try that but have tried once already it seems to go all the way round as well back to the start it turns on and will lock anticlockwise tried clockwise till it turns off but just will not pull out did it other day and was ok got me stumped.
You mean you ain't got the little black override card type thing with the key slid into it????

Thanks all got it out thank zebedee you was right must sort out some sort of spare  top site
I purchased a couple of kawasaki blanks from eBay and got a mate of mine to cut them from the stove key, now that stays where it is all the time and I have the spare in my pocket to open the petrol cap and panniers etc.

snap and ditto.
My cooker knob never gets taken out either, although I did get tipped of by a forum member to periodically take out and apply a small amount of lube maybe once every few months
I love this forum ... Help is never far away.
This stuff is very good but be warned do not use it if you already have used a liquid lubricant such as WD40 or don't use it in conjunction with such products as it will form a paste which could/will make matters worse

interesting point that I learned on here, maybe it was boomer, WD40 is not a lubricant its a water disperpent ( WD) with a solvent in that evaps away, not sure if it leaves a residue but certainly is not a long term Lube , never knew that!
make spare key. Leave spare key inserted into one pannier. Easy for access to panniers and fuel stops.
leave the stove key in the ignition permanently.
