Title: If you
Post by: Zebedee on April 21, 2014, 04:15:42 PM
If you leave your ignition switched on and leave your bike parked for 2 hrs the battery will be flat as I have found out today.

Oh dear. Hope you managed to get a jump start. Not surprised as the headlights will have been on. 110w will drain an 18Ah battery in well under 2hrs.

20 mins is enough to drop the battery below starting power...  :-(

Just wondering 'how'? did you use the engine kill switch to turn the engine off, or put sidestand down with engine running in gear.

And it was so flat the ignition would not even switch on. Been on optimate now for a couple of hrs and started first press so will be left on charge all night.

@ doebag sidestand as always park in gear. But had parked and switched off but the Mrs did not have enough room to get in so backed it out and restarted to ride back in and then just got off never even gave it a thought that the screen did not drop.
