Title: Scam
Post by: stukwak on April 12, 2014, 09:08:36 AM
Hi guys and gals, As some of you know i am currently looking for my first gtr. I came accross this on ebay yesterday and beleive it to be a scam so am trying to make anybody out there looking for one to watch out. This is the link for the bike http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-GTR1400-/161273705360?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item258ca97390 it has been advertised more than once. I emailed them about the bike and this is the response i got which led me to beleive it is a scam. Yesterday the same bike had 5 bids and was at £500.

Hi, thanks for your interest in my bike. 23,477 miles. As stated in the ad it has full service history and all the documentation including the V5. It has been stored in undercover storage since new so the exterior is perfect. The price is not negotiable: £3,950.00. My husband died 2 months ago and I was left with it but I don`t need it and since the mortgage is due in 2 weeks I have to sell his bike. I will put it on ebay with a buy it now option and if you agree I will send you the ebay link to the auction so you can buy from there.
The reason why I publish it on ebay is to benefit of the money back guarantee program since last week i had one guy (Marco) who came over to buy it and tried to pay me using fake notes. Told him i will call the police and ran away but he has started giving me midnight calls asking if i am alone...  I decided not to accept cash anymore, same goes for using phone when dealing on the internet... The bike has a clear HPI(no finance or accidents). If you agree to proceed through ebay I agree to even pay for delivery to your address. I will send you the bike with all the documents. As you well know ebay is the best online company for this kind of sales. I have 100% positive feedback with them. If you do have the money please get back to me so we can move forward

 The wording gives it away a mile off.    Report it to eBay and they will remove it.   I would like to think any biker looking at that would have enough "hazard perception" to avoid a financial accident

I know its ridiculous  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: but unfortunately people do get stung so if we can stop a couple of people getting stung then its a result :biker3: will be reporting it to ebay today.

yes that is a scam, wonder i never noticed it , i am often looking  at the bikes on ebay and have spotted loads, that is the same format of the scammer who is frequenting e bay,it will eventually be took off by e bay when they realise,so in the meantime should we not all start bidding on it to see how high we can get it ????

haha shut down already, damn I had 900k on that Bentley.

If these scammers had a few more brains then they may actually make some money. Like running an account for a year or so to build up some feedback and then scamming, they are so stupid , like anyone would be selling 3 million quids worth of vehicles for 09p .
