Title: Kawasaki GTR1400 takes on the mighty BMW K1300GT
Post by: Kwikasfuki on December 17, 2009, 11:37:12 PM

MCN have a review (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/videos/2009/December/dec0909-video-kawasaki-gtr-takes-on-bmw-gt/) of the GTR with the BMWK1300GT

I actually like the BWM even though BMW have a bad rep when it comes to quality. But for the price I'd go for the Kawasaki

It does annoy me when MCN do a write up on this bike versus that bike. Before I bought the GTR I did look at the BMW RT1200 and a Pan. Needless to say the GTR won hands down.
A guy I work with has a few bikes, one of which is an old RT1100. He does a lot of touring on it and its a very reliable bike. His last service with Allan Jeffries at Shipley, Bradford cost him in excess of £1000 and they put some new tyres on his bike at the same time. One of them they even put on the right way round. He took it straight back, not even an apology. You can do without service such as that.

I've been down the BMW route and I won't be buying a BMW again. Great bikes if the reliability was there. The other aspect I detest is the BMW arrogance/snobish attitude. The 1300 looks the part but I wouldn't only buy after a few years once all the reliability issues have been listed.
