Title: Risers and clearance
Post by: STX1300man on April 04, 2014, 02:01:07 PM
I've searched but can't find anyone mentioning this.

Just installed 2" risers and all went smoothly. The only thing is, on full lock the left master cylinder hits the screen, though not by much (the right doesn't). The screen is a genuine Kawasaki 2010 model one and I've not seen this mentioned as a problem before.

Also does everyone leave the cable clips deep down in the fairing open?

Strange, I have 2" risers and a Calsci screen and it doesn't hit.
Screen is wider than the OEM 2008/2009 screen by 2".

If its not by much, just move it slightly on the bars, its only the clutch lever that will change and you will get used to it being slightly higher......I also have 2" risers, but not the standard screen.

Move the clutch as Ant suggested.

I would, but it's already as far in board as possible. Will get a rule and square out tomorrow and see what's out of alignment. I'm guessing/hoping the screen.

Mine also hits the screen, and looking closely at the gap around the screen, it's not even. The standard screen sits correctly but the mounts are not seated the same on the bike. You can easily get fingers behind the offside of the screen mount but not the nearside.
