Its a nice bike to ride I'm told, but not my cup of tea, don't like the look......he may catch you up when you slow down :mfr_lol:
The only way I would go is K1600 for touring, cant see the point in going backwards......unless age and health dictates...
RT is a nice bike.... does the new one come with slippers yet?
Needs more power....
Neil
I told my mate ''IF VOLVO MADE BIKE'S'' you'd have one :mfr_lol:
It may not be as fast as a Gtr but I can assure you the new RT is bloody quick ! :police:
well he's ordered it,gotta go back in about 4 weeks time to see how far it is on the production line, there's a demand for them
Well you know what to get your mate for Christmas Pipe and Slippers and some Viagra - lol

What he said, the only bike I ever wrung the neck out of and got the best of it was my Puch Maxi S years ago, everything else since then I simply don't get the full use from, there always quicker than me, go round corners better than I can do, but I like it.

Spot on Alan, all this talk about 'slower, less powerful' bikes is completely irrelevant unless you are able to ride your bike to its full potential, I doubt there's anyone on here who can ride their GTR to 75% of its full potential, let alone 100%. The new RT is approximately 20% less powerful than the current GTR, it has approximately 9% less torque (Nm) available than the GTR but its Kerb weight is almost 6 stones lighter than the GTR, which are all relevant facts when purchasing your own (suitable) machine
When I had one of my ZX9s in the early 90s I regularly rode out with a pal (sadly now deceased) who at the time had an RVF 400, he would regularly leave us all for dead......why ? because he could really ride, in fact he was very talented, another very close friend rode a R6 and he was simply uncatchable, however he was and is a mega talented rider.
So you see its not all as Black and White as it first appears
when I told him he wouldn't keep up he said QUOTE,it's not the bike it's the rider.he has more experience than me.it's rude not to have a bit of banter.each to there own,if it was me I'd have had the 1600 & been done with it.i cant see me getting rid of my gtr,i like the power, look's & the comfort.it's a beast. :taz:
The gtr is only as fast as a 600 , for a bike with a 1400 engine it should be a lot quicker, but the weight holds it back , a zx10 or bmw1000rr now that is fast , if you have a bmw rt or gs in front and he goes first they pick up very quick as the power is all low down , most bikes are much the same up to the ton , :biker3:
If you bought GTR because it's fast then you are a fool and should have bought a ZZR1400. However, it is very fast for a bike that can hold 120mph all day. Try that on your sportbike without a neck brace. It's a sport-tourer and plenty fast enough for me. As for fast riders I know several who are faster than me in all conditions but I have managed over 250,000 miles over 20 years with only 3 minor accidents and no serious injuries, minor as in I rode the bikes home. All those faster than me have broken bones to prove it. I learned that lesson early on after a nasty wreck aged 18.

Well if your comparing Bikes compare them to Women
GTR - Kylie Minogue
Any BMW - Nora Batty
Yamaha R1 - Katie Price
Ducati Panigale - Audrey Hepburn
lol :tank:
I disagree. The Pan European is Nora Batty
GTR - Kylie Minogue?!!!?!?
Nice as they are, hardly a slight build and cute??!!!!
And the BMW as Nora Batty? Mmmm, Angela Merkel perhaps or Bridget Neilson
I was going down the Classy and gorgeous rather than slightly built and cute, and Nora Batty suits BMW just look at the Boxer Motor lol
Oh, and I thought Nora Batty was quite an attractive woman.
Well she is from Yorkshire....
Unfortunately - West Yorkshire (which is nearly Lancashire. Just saying :whistling:)
And as for the boxers? No73, They are wonderful, but not Sixy....

Spot on Boomer
I've had the 2008 zzr1400 and now got the 2013 ZZR1441 SE model  I decided to trade my 2010 GTR1400 for another ZZR  but it was not because the ZZR is faster  in fact.. the GTR is fast enough for our roads  so not everyone who buys a ZZR1400 is for the purpose of speed  I decided to go back to the ZZR because it fits me like a glove  it tours as good as the GTR and handles as good as a supersport  but admittedly... the ZZR dose not suit everybody :nono: for example, if you have long legs or a pie or beer belly you may have trouble reaching the bars  the ZZR1400 is a hyper sports tourer designed mainly for stability when cruising at high speeds, and although the ZZR is capable of arm wrenching Acceleration and silly top speeds I would imagine if a rider's main goal is speed he's more likely buy a ltr supersport like the zx10r then he would only have 198kg to chuck around not 268kg  if my main goal was to speed around everywhere I would not have bought the 2013 ZZR  would have bought the 2013 ZX10r
just my 2 penneth worth :mfr_lol:
