Last year i took a bit footage on my Ireland trip bit it was a tad boring, so this year im gonna see if i can invest some time and energy in making/editing my vids to make thrm a bit more interesting.
This is my first attempt at editing, bear in mind i only have 1 camera at present. Edited using AVS Editor.
The cam i used was off ebay same as this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Waterproof-720P-Cam-Sports-Action-Helmet-Camera-Video-HDMI-DVR-Remote-Control-/131050559712?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Camcorders&hash=item1e8338d8e0
Heres the vid

Nice vid. I've stopped using music now as either YouTube gives you grief or someone will complain they want to hear your engine/gears
Somewhere in AVS there must be an option to not have those big black borders. Possibly you've got the wrong resolution for your output compared to the input?
:sweet: love the concept and looking forward to more  ......like the sun back lighting your head @ 3.50 Kev
Did you have to do the same lap with different camera mounting to achieve the raw footage for editing ?
Stx - yeah i know what you mean about the boarders, i noticed that too. On the mobile and even on media player its correct ratio (whatever it is) giving widescreen but after i uploaded it onto YT it changed for some reason and ended up with board all the way round. You can get past the music copyright by acknowleding it. The reason for the music is cos this cam had a really crap mic and all you get it eind noise.
Charlie - I basically rode the same stretch of road iver and over remounting the cam in/on different places to get the angles. Ive got a couple more cams coming (just cheapies) and will see how they compare.
Try a foam wind shield maybe ? My camera is cylindrical so I just cut a hole in foam for lens.

Youtube video is 480p so maybe you had camera set to 640x480 (60FPS) which is 4:3 ratio.
1280x720 (30FPS) is "Widescreen" 16:9 ratio.
AVS Editor is set to accept 16:9 as default. Personally I use Windows Live Movie Maker.
Thanks ill try the mic sponge, mine cylindrical too. Ive covered what i think to be the mic but it still generates lot of noise. Its only a pin hole on the underside behind the laser (yes it has a laser sight!) I then taped a layer of sponge over it, but it maybe too compressed so not helping.
Ill check my setting on the cam but im sure its 720p, so what ratio should i then produce it as Andy? 4:3 or 16:9 or whatever? I tried using win movie maker but mine keeps crashing when i try to trim clips.

720 will give widescreen and best resolution. 30 fps will give some "strobing" if wheels are in shot. Try a bit of thin sticky tape over mike hole if exposed to breeze :-) http://replayxd.com/product/windbreakers/ (http://replayxd.com/product/windbreakers/)
1280 x 720 = 16 / 9 = 1.77:1
