Title: GTR/parking
Post by: tapps on March 09, 2014, 06:45:03 PM
well my pal & myself have both had our gtr's for nearly 2 year's.we both have found it heavy whilst attempting to park,he went to loomies today & the car park was packed,i'm not sure wether he was on or off the bike while trying to manoeuvre it backward's but the inevitable happened,he dropped it exhaust side down, not a lot of damage,a scrape on the exhaust, mirror & lower fairing,he's now decided it's got to go !!!!!!! he's going to have a go at selling it privately, then it's knowing what to replace it with.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago, was coming upto a sweeping left hand junction had to brake for a car coming put my foot down and no mother earth there. The bike went over i couldnt hold it, after righting the bike it turned out that where i stopped to put my foot down there was a dip on the road looked like a bodge patch job which i did not see. Only damage to the bike was a tiny scratch to the lower fairing and front corner of pannier. I too did think of the weight of the bike afterwards, but then again once rolling you dont feel the weight. I hope your pal does not get rid of an awesome bike for a slight hick - up, i happens to us all.

its crazy,he likes riding it,it's parking it when he has an issue,he's a bit of a short arse,he was going to look at getting a lower seat,he's not going to bother now,he's' made up his mind to get rid,i strongly believe he will miss it,he has another bike so he's not going to be without 2 wheel's.

He should have bought a set of Ant's crash bars..............................

Seriously though, I never 'paddle' a bike to park it. I am always off it and walking alongside. I think you have more control and much less chance of your feet slipping on dodgy ground.
