Title: Free to a good home.
Post by: Lonewolf on March 02, 2014, 11:31:00 PM
A strange request on here I know but is there anyone out there who would welcome a two and half year old black staffy bull terrier into their home? It's a gentle giant, bigger than most staffies, but seems to have a good temperament and is house trained etc.

The owner is happy to part with the dog which was her Son's who unfortunately passed away, providing it goes to a very good home.

The dog is in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

If you are interested drop me a PM and I'll arrange a meeting.

Steve, I have always been strongly against 'giving away' any animal as it tends to encourage the wrong type of person to 'adopt' it..far .better that the new owner pays the going rate and therefore cares properly for the animal for the rest of its natural.

Just my ten penneth

OC I do agree with you but thankfully there are still some responsible dog owners out there. One of my Springers was advertised free of charge on the classifieds at work, I snapped it up, that was six years ago and he's the best dog of his breed I've ever owned.

Conan, I like Springers, Cockers and Shepherds, they'd always be my first choice but I have cared (short term) for a few staffy's which I've come across through work and which have been abandoned and I've always found them to have a good temperament but I'm not naive enough to think there aren't bad examples in virtually every breed.

Viper, you are so right, there are a disproportionate amount of staffy's abandoned by irresponsible owners who possibly acquired them initially for status symbols or similar. They can and do however make very good and loyal pets with a responsible, experienced dog owner.

If anyone wants the dog, Charlie is his name, you will be vetted by The Wolf!
