Hi all,
I tried searching the forum for the answer but could find a post to help. Might be there but I couldn't see it. Anyway,
What size airhawk suits the gtr? And is there really a big jump in quality between the neoprene and the cheaper version?
Thanks in advance for any help and apologies if I'm going over old ground.
This is my cruiser medium (it's not strapped down - just sat on for your sizing purposes). It's the more expensive neoprene version. This material is thicker and heavier so will be more hard wearing and maybe quieter and more comfy than the other sort. Downside is they're more expensive (also has a longer warranty). I got mine used from Debs, it was hardly used and in mint condition. Not sure I'd have paid full price for one but what I paid was a bargain. The tag for the medium cruiser states that it's 36.5 x 36.5 x 5.0 (cm).

I've not had the pleasure of using it on a long trip yet - got it primarily for my BMW F800GS, although I will use it on the GTR when 'on tour'. I think the stock seat on the GTR is pretty good. If you can afford the neoprene version or if you see a good used one or if your're going on the road fora big trip I'd recommend going this one. Otherwise I'd suggest the cheaper version as I've heard just as many good things about them.
The airhawk
Probably the best single thing ive ever bought for the bike, If carlsburg made cushions they would have made the airhawk
I bought the cheaper one about 8 years ago, i only use it for 2 or 3 weeks a year for our Euro jaunt and its still going strong.
My wife and daughter use it on the exercise bike and it has had somne hammer on there, considering my wife has lost 3 stone last year!!
im sure you know all about the very small amount of air you need to put in them?
Thanks guys. Been doing some homework on them and they seem to get great reviews across the board. Heading for our yearly euro jaunt in May and after a rough one last year on the razor blade that is a stock r1200gs seat I don't want to risk not having something with me. Bought a sergeant seat when I came home then decided I wanted to change the bike so will be sticking it on fleabay.
Thanks again chaps,
Ski.
