Title: A bit of light repair.... Light repair, you get it? Lol....... Sorry
Post by: Kall1400 on February 24, 2014, 09:50:25 AM
Apologies if this is posted some where else, or earlier. I have looked but cant find anything....

Can any one give me any points in the right direction about changing the dash bulbs.

what kind of bulb fit they are.

How easy a job is it?

Any specific tools required (or just my axe)

Thanks in advance.....

I am not sure if you can. All the warning lamps are LED's, and there is no mention of bulbs for illumination in the workshop manual

To get at the dash cluster, remove the screen, then the black dash panel under the screen [ fitted by screws and push pin clips ] then you can access the cluster for a bit of a butchers.

I'm not personally aware of anyone who's changed their dash lights.

This has been done in the past. They are surface mount LEDs that are soldered to the circuit board for the guages. If you are not afraid of electronics you could do it, or there are companies that offer this service for the ZX-14 (I think you call it the ZZR1400) which uses the same instrument cluster.

Well i am never shy to get my tool box opened..

Soldering iron is in the second draw marked "soldering iron and equipment" just thought i would throw that in for any one thinking of organising their tools..  :whistling:

If it all goes wrong, the axe is in the top draw marked "think before using"...... :hammer:
