Just seen this on Ebay and thought for a minute because of its pristine condition :whistling: it was Asif selling his.

The ad says it wont start, I have to admit that I haven't seen that particular warning message on the dash before and hopefully I never will!
Jezu...It hurts seeing this :sweatdrop:
The bodywork damage looks as if it may be fairly cosmetic, my concern would be the extent of internal damage caused as a result of "flood damage".
It must be heartbreaking for many people who have lost so much in the recent floods, and I suspect that there will be many more bikes of varying vintage turning up for sale as "flood damaged" over the coming months
I'm surprised its a cat C as there seems to be T.L. on the tank......can that be Total Loss ?
Would have thought it be scrap value.
I wouldn't like to put that back on the road again as you don't know how long its been immersed.
It would be a good group buy to strip down and either sell all the good parts or keep as spares at that price, but i think it will sell for more.
Good luck whoever buys it.............as you'll have difficulty selling it again.
Checked it out last night and thought of Viper for body panels / breaking for spares and I notice not a bit of Pheasant Damage to the mirrors.
Your right Ant sad to say only financial winner is to break for spares................so why you must ask yourself is the breaker selling it not doing this ? :whistling:
Nothing that a bit of Auto Glym wouldn't sort out.

Probably because he sells and takes a small profit out of the sale, rather than getting involved in extensive/expensive/breaking repairs and then suffering the long term effects of selling a machine in such condition.........that's my guess
Insurance damage categories are as follows :-
Category A Scrap only - this vehicle should have been crushed. It should never reappear on the road and there are no economically salvageable parts. It is of value only for scrap metal - e.g. a totally burnt-out vehicle.
Category B The bodyshell should have been crushed. The vehicle should never reappear on the road, but it can be broken for spare parts plus any residual scrap metal.
Category C Vehicle extensively damaged and insurer has decided not to repair. The vehicle should have an independent inspection before being allowed back onto the road.
Category D Vehicle damaged and insurer has decided not to repair.
Category F Vehicle damaged by fire and insurer has decided not to repair.
I've just taken a closer look at it and it's actually in better nick that Asif's. :mfr_lol:
Oh dear.
im surprised that he hasnt washed off the mud and made it a bit more presentable, could be good for panels but now it going to 3k
cant believe that anyone would bid anything on it as if every panel and the engine/electrics could be toast.
if it was closer id be tempted to take a look
i have picked up a few panels for my go green project ,
Viper when I first saw it I thought it was a spoof ad, someone having a light hearted attempt to sell their bike like you occasionally see with some car sales, where people describe it as a gas guzzling, high mileage, rust ridden wreck etc. But alas, its a genuine, serious ad.

when i first saw it i thought, jesus, could have washed it first :mfr_lol:
It's looks like there is no crash damage ,so it has just been sat in a flood , much like all these bmw gs that go through rivers get fully submerged then have to dry out , bit of wd40 in the electrics it be good to go ,,, :mfr_lol:

Would you trust this seller at the price its at now ??
So sad to see such a great bike like that  especially as I'm after one
I don't like the caution symbol in the last photo......
Very sad, but it is green, it just doesn't float... :-)
Neil
You can bet that rear suspension adjuster is never going to move again if it's been under water :mfr_lol:
It's more than likely that the knob that has tried to start it has done more damage than the water itself. if it had been left to dry, then had the plugs removed and the oil drained it would probably have been saved .
Thankfully its a green one, they're ten a penny!
