Nope , not while I'm still breathing :nono:
(the first one BTW)
Well, I think they are awful

Totally agree, and what about when you stop for lunch, or a brew. You would look a right tit walking around in THAT.
I wouldn't wear one, but I do disagree that wearing one means you are "posing as a copper".
Some people like to be seen on their bike, and if others think they are Police then thats them making that decision.
It is merely a high visibility jacket. It is illegal to impersonate a police officer, so that would mean claiming to be a police officer. Nowhere on the jacket shown does it even say police.
I can't see what the problem is if that's what someone wants to wear.
These drivers are not giving you respect, they momentary think you are the dibble and are worried for their Licence, once they realise that you are not they just think W@nker and then any respect you may of had goes down the toilet.
Its not for me and I dont have any respect for other bikers who wear them, but hey thats just me
let my flaming begin, im sure im in for some!

 Oh yes, I forgot about them. :embarrassed:. I'll get mi coat. :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
I used to have one of their earlier designs which wasn't as extravagant as that one. I don't wear it any more and haven't done for yonks. We had a memo at work about wearing them and discipline or something.

And I concur.
I'm open minded about Hi-vis, my winter biking jacket has high vis panels, but I bought it as it offers good weather and safety protection. TBH I don't get in a flap about what other bikers wear, if they choose hi-vis or not it's their choice, I certainly don't think that wearing hi-vis makes you less conspicuous.
Having worked in the construction industry I can tell you that all clothing from head to toe has to meet safety guidlines, and the wearing of it is strictly enforced too, for example I had to wear a hard hat when I stepped out of my wagon on certain sites even if I was in the middle of no-where, maybe the birds in those parts were particularly badly constipated :mfr_lol:
It's bad enough when you see Pan riders ( or similar) with Yellow hi vis jackets, white helmets and imitation police stripes on their white bike , makes me cringe. :roll eyes:
I have not got a problem with HiViz gear, its the stuff that imitates police that makes me cringe. Normal hiviz is fine

my line of thinking too
we debated this subject last year and i remember most people being in favour of them
I always wear high viz, its just my personal choice. But I respect peoples decisions and each to their own at the end of the day.
if ya want hi-viz, PINK armbands that's all ya need

Ok this is what I wear all day every day .... well, at least when I'm on a bike ! I think it helps certainly when the insurance companies take off 10 - 15 % of your injury claim if NOT wearing any reflective kit !
Ah, that looks like a place I went to last year with some Cockney chap.

One of my old colleagues had a Honda 70 a few years back, and travelled backwards and forwards to work on it, the route included a bit of countryside, a 70 limit Dual carriageway, and one junction of the M1 to get to Police HQ... one day he left early to pick up a christmas present for his youngster from Toys R Us, and strapped it on the back... a full sized basket ball net and back board
I saw guy in London with an 8' plank bungeed to the back of his C50.
I followed for about 15 mins but eventually he hit the back of a car with the plank.
I stuck around as a witness, gave my statement to the Polite  and got to watch whilst one of the Politemen  explained to the C50 rider the errors of his ways.
Amazingly after collecting his paperwork for the unsafe load charge, the idiot made to ride off again with the plank still on.
Mr nice Politeman  again explained in a somewhat heated discussion that Mr C50 could not ride with the plank on the bike.
It ended with Mr C50 in cuffs in the back of the Politecar
Some people are just too stupid to be allowed out in public.
Sounds like a daft bugger who deserved the bracelets.

As I have explained to a friend on many occasions:
If you get mouthy with the Police, expect to spend time in cuffs/cell before being released.
Personally I find simple courtesy and honesty will get you a bolloxing rather than a ticket 9 times out of 10.
Not that I have managed 10 yet, but then I also have a clean licence.
