I wish you could do 60mph on the m1. , if these cameras do that then I might not be sat in traffic so much , I think that on the motorways that if you know the cameras are there then they are not going to get any body for speeding , so hopefully it might make it all run smoother , apart from all the roadworks which never seem to end ,, :biker3:
Add in the 2 or 3 lanes of trucks all doing 56Mph and the white van man in lane 4 using his cruise control (van limited to 70Mph) and it's a miracle any of us can ever manage to break the speed limit. With the new truck limits (40Mph on single carriageways, 50 on dual and 56 on m-ways) and the increase of the Dither Brigade it is getting more and more difficult to get anywhere near the speed limit these days.
I already behave in the camera-ed areas like roadworks and the M25 from the A13 to the M20 mainly because these areas are busy and full of morons.
Personally I would rather see money spent on policing the roads for tailgater's, middle and right lane hogs, and the most dangerous of all, the phone users.
At the moment I pass at least 20 phone users EACH way every day. You can see them from way back because they are all over the road.
I would also like someone with a brain put in charge of the motorway signs.
On the M25 they regularly slow all 4 lanes down to 40 because there is a queue in lane 1 due to a crap (M25/M2) junction 2.
Why not slow lanes 1 & 2 to 40, lane 3 to 50 and lane 4 to 60? Better yet, fix the ****ing junction!
And please stop reminding me to fasten my ****ing seatbelt and prosecute the morons who are still not wearing theirs.
Yes I have checked my fuel, am not drink/driving and am not tired.
Any chance could let me know where the traffic problems are up ahead?
How about time to the next major junction?
Or maybe even a joke to relieve the boredom.
Speed enforcement is like timekeeping enforcement at work. Both are easy to measure and report.
God forbid that they sack someone for being a punctual waste of space, or prosecute a driver for doing 45Mph in the middle lane of a motorway.
I totally agree with all that you have said George.
All the advisory/instructional signs that are being introduced onto the roads are not only distracting but make drivers even lazier in the long term ~ before too long many drivers will have totally lost the skill to drive a vehicle and will have lost the ability to think and anticipate for themselves, with the obvious disasterous consequences
Nothing like a cheap tax on the motoring public. As in parts of Canada, I do believe that the public will eventually get :censored: at them and make it an election issue.
Politicians are a spineless bunch of self serving :censored:
Well said George.
I too use the A13/M25/A20 every day.....

As we saw the other say on the M25/A13 roundabout. Was good to see ya, albeit briefly.
I got home without it overheating but once I parked it in the garage is spat steam.
Was a duff fan switch AND a jammed radiator cap valve.

Nice ot see you too. I recognised your beast of a bike from some way off LOL.
It's a good job you're handy in that department as I haven't got a clue so just stick it in my local bike garage. Bandit due in this weekend for its next service at 36k so the GTR will be coming out to play next week (to ensure the commuting traffic).
Traffic should be lighter next week as it's half term.
