Hi sonic,
I too joined here having moved from a Sprint st. I had the triumph gel seat and found that really comfy and the gtr seat not so good. My remedy for the numb bum is a corbin seat, took a few miles to mould to my 19 st assbut now real comfy. The missus also loves her end of the corbin  seat that is in effect a separate seat, higher than mine plus it means she doesn't slip forwards under heavy breaking , a corbin isnt the cheapest option but in my opinion worth the money

Hi Sonic and welcome.

You're thinking of Tony Archer (http://tonyarcher.co.uk/). Nice chap, his unit is a couple of miles away from where I live.

I too found the stock seat uncomfortable, purchased a Corbin which didn't agree with me, so went back to stock. Once my butt had got used to it, its fine

Actually, I have a spare GTR seat. Gonna take it to Tony and get him to do something with it

Yeah, gotta admit your bum gets used to the seat in due course.

I've used Tony Archer before, 1st Class. Give this guy a ring as well, I've heard some very good reviews of his work.

Best of luck trying to get a Corbin seat from the importers I've been trying for 2 weeks but when trying to buy online it appears that their online payment account has been closed and they are not replying to the message I left with them.

Anyone on hear live in Bournemouth and know if Battistinis are still trading.

+1 for Tony Archer. I have a damaged coccyx and he made an excellent job of sorting out the GTR seat for me. He's very busy and needs chasing occasionally but his work is first class and very reasonably priced. We're gradually sending the seats from all of our bikes to him.

I'm going to get Tony to take 1" off the stock seat but retain the shape. I've got a shoulder impingement injury and riding any bike that pushes you into an upright riding position makes riding unbearable. With the GTR, as the seat pushes you forward I have absolutely no problems. Something I need to remember if I ever decide to change bikes.

Taking 1" off the seat and retaining the shape will mean I can try lighter wind shields on my bike that don't put stress on the wind shield mechanism.

Corbin are quoting £498 and 6-8 weeks for std seats
