Title: does the givi v46 top box need sr410 support????
Post by: Ski on February 03, 2014, 12:23:03 PM
hi all,
have just purchased a Givi V46 top box from fleabay. it came with a universal mounting plate but on researching (google images etc) i see some photos of a bracket in addition to the standard mounting plate which is already on the GTR. is it necessary to use this extra mounting bracket (i think its a SR410) or can i just mount the givi mounting plate directly to the existing standard plate already on the bike?
any advice much appreciated.
:ohplease:

The universal plate will bolt to the kawasaki plate, in fact this is what kawasaki do with their top box. However kawasaki use a monolock case which is slightly different.

The sr410 is a neater way of doing the job. It has the givi fittings, but replaces the  kawasaki plate on the 1400

Your choice, the sr410 [ or phils farkles equivalent http://www.philsfarkels.com/ ] will look neater. If you are the sort who keeps the top box on all the time, then I would save your money.

I have the phils farkles plate, if I ever need just a flat plate without the top box, I unbolt the three givi mounts and put them in the glove box.

Ski, click the link below and the first and third pics are of my GTR with the SR 410 fitted, it makes even the largest GIVI top box very secure, even when fully loaded.

It can be a pain in the arse to fit and instructions aren't great but its very solid when fitted

There's a number of GIVI suppliers, but I think this place may be as good as any....unless others know any different

Just found this, looks like you may have to trawl through to see if there's a SR 410 in the sale

Good luck
