Any suggestions for a reasonable breakdown service? My AA membership is up for renewal next month. A family package bought last year cost £160, renewal quote is £254. When I questioned it today, and reminded them of the poor service they provided when my bandit broke last year, they offered me a renewal for £154.
I would prefer a family package as there is 5 of us with a total of 3 cars and 2 bikes. Any suggestions would be welcome, even single policies.
Moral here is, do not accept your first quote for anything.

my bike breakdown cover is through my insurance! but try green flag for a qoute! have got my car ,and my 2 daughters cars with them for £118.00 for the year! but am a old customer and use to have my touring caravan break down cover with them! but worth a try not sure they cover bikes thou! however £154.00 for 3 cars and 2 bikes seems reasonable to me!
Green Flag do cover bikes as that's who we are with but bear in mind when travelling on that big island off our shores that the European cover is only valid for your main vehicle.

I have full breakdown recovery including homestart through my bike insurance company. They also provide 365 day european cover for a very reasonable price
I was with the RAC for many years and it just seemed ridiculous to be paying £126 for any vehicle cover when it was included in my insurance.

I have breakdown cover through the AA which also includes European cover, probably for a month, although I've never checked. What I like about the AA cover is that it covers the driver/rider rather than the vehicle. So I can either be in the car or on the bike or even on/in a loan vehicle and I am always covered.
Like the others I have cover through my bike insurance specific ... but for a car ? I spend my Tesco points .. turn them into vouchers, 3 times the value, and I get my car insurance home start etc and convey onto the destination for spending my money at Tesco ! They are very good !
