Title: Filming with a helicopter thingy ........
Post by: Rusty on January 18, 2014, 06:16:16 PM
Ok we are all used to bike videos by now and with the arrival of new GoPro 3+ etc the standard is amazing ... but ( and I am sorry I am so technically inept that I cant even copy to this forum ! ) on "the other" forum I use I have seen a great bit of video using one of these multi bladed copter thingys ... and it is incredible .. like a blockbuster film where it comes over the top of the mountains and films you as you ride through the lovely scenery ... Bryn.. have you seen it ?? ( Posted last couple of days ) 2 or 3 chaps on GS's in The Picos I think over the Christmas period.
Just wondered if anyone else had thought about this line of filming ... I'll see if I can locate it again and bring it to the Gtr forum fro us all to share.

I have been trying, with great difficulty, to avoid buying one for roughly 12 months now.

Damned things are a hazard.
The fire in Norway this weekend they had to delay the fire helicopters from doing water drops until they had gotten all the press/ghoul drones out of the air.
Pretty shortly they will get regulated due to proliferation into the hands of idiots.
They you will have to get a licence, just like for model aircraft, and quite right too.

A guy at work who's neighbours were a problem with an RC helicopter flying it over his land solved it with a 12 bore. It's just an option

How on earth do you manage to film yourself without falling off the bike because both hands are on the remote control ?   :whistling:
