Title: GTR panels wanted
Post by: viper on January 18, 2014, 05:31:18 PM
If anyone has got any body panels that will fit post 2010 models then Id be interested in buying them off you. Im after any panels that are painted , will take on road rash cases, need lugs and holes intact but can deal with minor filling and sanding and painting

cheers

There is two rear side panels on eBay at the moment with a 99p start , I would not think that they would go for that much ,  :biker3:

well the hunt for parts is going well, I only need the right hand fairing panels and ive got everything. Got the deal of the decade today, A complete set of brown panniers in mint condition went on ebay last night, met up with the seller today in Manchester and got them for a £100 , I also got a mint seat off him for £50 which I will sell on  , last gtr seat I sold went for £140, so the sale of this will almost pay for the panniers, plus as I only need the painted parts I can sell the locks/ shells  on ect.

He also put me in touch with a paint guy who resprayed his bmw for an really good price and now ive sourced my paint Im nearly good to go. Although I may hang on until the bike comes off the road at the end of the year.

Good going Viper. Will be interested to see the results.

If Kawasaki don't do a Candy Red soon, I think I might go down the same route ...

I reckon you ought to sell me the mint seat for what you paid for it, i need to experiment with it gel wise.

Then if all ok i can sell my Top Sellerie seat and recompense you.

Seems like a good idea for me.

That's a great idea Alan.... for you

you may find it useful to know that ive experimented with 3 seats on the gtr now, first one let some local guy work on it, rubbish, 2nd one put gel inserts in, rubbish, 3rd one , put a layer of chip foam under the original foam.. for some reason made the seat more uncomfortable, but I also put a heat pad in and we use this for the cold short blasts. Eventually I got a top sellerie and its the best seat ive had by far.

ebay seats , ive bought about 10 in the last 3 years, I wait for someone to list, ask them for a buy it now , usually they are so keen to get beer tokens in their hand they don't wait for the auction. I got two mint ones last year from the same guy for £25 each, promptly sold them for £120 + each.

keep watching , they do come up but the zzr guys love em and that's why they get big bucks.
