hi, time to introduce myself I guess as I've been lurking around the forum for the best part of a year now. I've got a 2013 GTR in midnight blue, purchased, serviced and improved by the guys at Clay Cross Kawasaki (more lights front & rear, tracker, risers, lowers, exhaust -the regular stuff). The guys at Scorpion have had my bike in at the factory to improve the routing/fitting around the panniers and lowers - fits/looks and sounds superb, when I left the bike with them I was given a tour around the factory, a brief history of the company and quick look at what they're developing! I think you can guess I sing the praises of the guys at both Clay Cross Kawasaki and Scorpion. Got the GTR to replace my previous ZZR, less risk to the licence, more comfort for the touring miles & for the now regular pillion (she approves) and still fast enough. Use the bike all year round (mostly!), went to Assen for the motogp last year, booked for Catalunya this year with a trip to France planned for later in the summer. On my second replacement set of TPS so it looks like the cost of the extended warranty is money well spent. I'm based in Mansfield and hope to catch up with you guys sometime. Cheers, andyg.
welcome andy
some pics of your extras?
Andy, welcome along to the forum. As Viper said, if you have some photos of the bike and extras they are always welcome on here.

Hi and welcome to the forum......Maybe see you blasting around sometime. We head over to Carsington water occasionally.
Great! Very welcome here & enjoy this forum:-)
Pic please (the bike and the wife :mfr_lol:)
thanks for the welcome. I'll post some pics asap, always thinking of what to add to make the old girl more user friendly. I'm often in the Derbyshire, Matlock area though usually heading through rather than spending much time there, depends if the wife is with me or if I'm with the old guys who like to navigate without maps or sat nav. I'm easy to spot - midnight blue gtr, lots of lights, dressed as standard - white schuberth & hiviz. Cheers, andyg.
Hello Andy and WELCOME !!
Welcome Andy!
Have ferry and B&b booked for Assen TT this year. Any suggestion on where to watch this epic event? We were looking at Winterdijk tribune, but welcome any advice.

Hi Andy, i'm just over the hill from you in Worksop, Welcome to the foum. I have visited Clay Cross Kawasaki twice and both times have been very disapointed with their service / attitude, i tried to book a test ride on z1000sx, and told 'Not yet matey come back in february we will maybe have a demo by then', needless to say they will not be getting my custom.

Geert Timmer Tribune Stand gives great view of the chicane before start/finish line as does the Winter Dijk Tribune Stand which is adjacent, if you want to be undercover then the Hoofd tribune Stand overlooks the start/finish and pits
there's a huge screen to watch the race on immediately infront of the Geert Timmer tribune Stand too
Some of the stands require you to book a ticket for a seat, overall the Assen Circuit is stunning and frequented by lots of Brit fans who consider it their home from home for overseas racing ....a "must visit" venue
we watched from Hoofd, covered grandstand overlooking start, finish & pits, there are good viewing points all around, some big screens, we chose Hoofd as the ladies told us they didn't want to get wet - turned out to be a good choice as the weather was changeable to say the least.
fantastic atmosphere and racing, good facilities around and at the circuit, easy to walk around, good transport to the circuit from the town.
stopped at the Best Western Hotel de Jonge in the centre of Assen, average room, lots of night time entertainment (until 3-4 am) all around the town (all free), prices ok for food & drink in town and at the circuit.
lots of Brits, LOTS of bikes, well policed routes.
well worth a visit, I'll definitely be going again.
Great advice Andy and O.C!
Hoofd sound like a good choise. think that we will go with that alternative.
Thanks.
Was at assen myself last year ,went with a local if weather is fine winterdijk tribune is good spot but its an open stand.
