Hoy Bryn,
Thx for sharing... there are a lot of pics and situations never seen before..
Here in the western part of Flanders (living only 20 miles from Ypres) war is part of us (ww1)...
This year is very special... 100 years after the start of ww1... there are lots of things that will remember that...
Guess the queen is invited also....
We all have a lot of respect for and are very gratefull to all soldiers, peoples, countries , families who helped the world looking for freedom and peace... thx guys :punk:
`never again`... we hope...
Beegee... We ticked Ypres and the Menin Gate off the To Do list last year... A very sobering experience... Enjoyed the visit ( if that'ts the right word) to the Passchendaele museum at Zonnebeke
They've gone to a lot of effort there
By bike?
Visited flanderfieldmuseum at the market place ? Guess all english schools visit too ...
An impression : http://www.inflandersfields.be/en/discover
I've done Flanders, The Somme, Auschwitz-Birkenau and remains of the Berlin Wall..
I still want to go to Oradour sur Glane.
I need some more ideas after that.. :feedback: :innocent:

Had a night in Ypres... saw the last post.... then headed down towards Germany....300 miles in pouring rain later we're back in Bruges.... so a trip down to nearly where we started in Zonnebeke ... This is the previous day before the heavens opened

Not quite the same as some of your visits, but we went to The eagles nest a few years ago when we visited Austria.
Absolutely breathtaking views, and to think the Americans wanted to blow it up.....
