Apparently Motor insurers will be able to access your driving record to check for convictions for the first time this year (2014)
The change means customers buying a policy must hand over their driving licence number to their insurer who will then run a check
Insurers say that the move will slash fraud rates and shave £15 off the average premium
Thats OK as long as they actually pass on the saving to us - somehow I think we'll need to wrench it out of them with a crowbar!
just insured my works van car and my zzr, insurances have as always risen in cost and the insurance companies wanted to see scanned copies of my driving licence, as my licence is the old paper type my bike insurance wanted to see proof of the date i passed my test, as i am now 58 and passed my test in 1972 i had no prrof of my pass date . so i pointed out that my licence was renewed in 1981 so after a bit of a hassle they accepted that . if there any ever any saving's to be had on insurance policies the only people who will be saving any monies will be the insurance companies , they love to take it in but they will put any obstacle in your way not to pay out..
well funny that, just had my bmw quote through and for the first time ever it has gone down by about 20%
