Title: Bristol Kawasaki
Post by: MarkyMark on December 22, 2013, 05:04:34 PM
2009 GTR

Need a major service. I am Swindon based.

Is it best to go to a Kawasaki Dealer, or just use local trusted guys.

My closest Kawasaki dealer is Bristol. Anyone with experience of Bristol Kawasaki?

If it has ANY (absolutely ANY) affiliation with Fowlers in Bristol then avoid like the plague. For a bit of fun read the reviews this bunch of retards gets.

I wouldn't wish the experience I had with 'em on anyone.

I had a zzr1200 that had full Sh.  From. Bristol kawasaki , when I took the swing arm out it was as dry as a bone so was the main stand ,even tho there was  4 grease  nipples to go at , so I was not impressed ,,,

If you can get down this way I recommend Bournemouth Kawasaki... Great guys and the best dealer I have ever dealt with..

http://www.bournemouth-kawasaki.co.uk/

I wouldn't let any Joe Bloggs garage do mine, unless I had known them years and knew they had a good reputation.

For piece of mind I'd let the Kawasaki boys and girls do it, if there are any updates Kawasaki have released re servicing they will be aware of them, your back street garage may not be.

It probably won't be that much cheaper either having it done at a back street garage.

Which service are you looking at?  I spoke to BK about the 22000 service that includes the valve shims.  They reckoned on between £800 to £1000 depending on parts required.  A lot of that is labour and they did say that it can be reduced a fair bit if you are prepared to take off all the fairings etc yourself and just deliver a naked bike

Hi

If you are in Swindon the nearest dealer is Blade Kawasaki, just down the road from Mega Motors (ex George Whites)

I have used them since they took on the Kawasaki franchise after G Whites went into liquidation. They have done several services on mine, including the major service and I have always found them very good and helpful.

Kind regards

Steve

Fully endorse comments about Blade Kawasaki. Bought mine from them and had to return with a leaking fork seal. They arranged a time convenient to me (I,m based in Boston Lincs,) rode in, dropped off the bike, went to the local pub for lunch and then rode home. Competant and efficient.

.                                 If I had to part with £800-1000 for a service  I would be gutted ,  take off everything you can then get a price for shims and throttle balance , everything else , brakes dead easy to do ,oil change ,diff change any greasing then do it yourself , all most folk are worry about is the shims  get them done once at 15000  then forget about it ,

I bought my new GTR from Bristol Kawasaki a few years back and have done 38K. They've serviced it every time, and I've even gone in on-spec to have front wheel bearings replaced and punctured tyres replaced. All done whilst I waited.

I've not had any trouble, they're professional in all they do so can heartily recommend them. They're even doing me a deal on servicing costs since they see me 3 or 4 times a year, all without prompting from me.

Used Bristol kawasaki for years, never had a problem with them. Even used them to service my honda as well. Very friendly people.
