There's hardly any info or pics out on there on the Kawasaki GTR1400 Flip-up Tinted Tall Screen so thought I'd provide some and share my initial thoughts
They're available here at Flowrider UK (http://www.flowrideruk.co.uk/product/kawasaki-gtr1400-2010-flip-up-tall-screen/)
Quote from: Flowrider UKDesigned to be taller than the original screen and re-direct the air flow higher over the top of the bike. These screens are ideal for sports or touring use and will fit directly onto the original fixing points. All flip-up/tall screens are available in the different colours. Flip up/tall screens are always longer but not all of them have the top turned over.
As you can see they don't give you much by way of specific dimensions, so here are a few:
Top screw to top 41cm
Top to bottom 65cm
Widest point 58cm
Narrowest point 47cm
I was looking at an XL wide Calsci Screen but at £185 they're not cheap. I was also concerned the XL might be too tall so I looked at other options and an opportunity to try out the above Flowrider screen when the opportunity to get one at a bargain price presented itself. I got mine used but in excellent condition via eBay off forum member Dixy1 for £52. Bargain!
My initial thoughts. Very easy to fit. Nice light smoke tint. Very stable even when fully up and even up to £100mph. It's probably a few inches taller than the 2010+ 'touring' screen and has a curve that flips the air up and over your helmet.
So it's taller but it doesn't look out of place and fits the styling of the bike IMO. It's probably about as tall as the Large Calsci screen. I'm 5'10" and I'm looking just over it and it cuts out most of the wind, but to get into that totally silent bubble it probably needs a couple more inches. I suspect I would then be looking through the screen.
I'd like the option of the totally silent sweet spot but it's not worth what I feel is the extra cost in pounds , pence and styling. I wear custom ear plugs anyway so no big deal on the little but of wind noise on the top of the helmet. When it's fully up though it keeps the wind off all of your torso and neck. Be nice if it was a little wider though.
For filtering I lower the screen, just feels safer, and fully up the handling isn't bad either. There is the tiniest effect on handling at higher speeds but that was probably as much the combo with the large E55 top box and the very blustery day. I'm going to stick with this screen for the time being, I like the tint, the size looks good and is very effective even on windy days and at higher speeds.
The Calsci's are not tinted. So, to get that silent sweet spot and the slightly wider screen I would need the XL wide Calsci screen but it would mean losing the tint option, potentially compromising the aesthetics and coughing up a lot more dollar...
I hope this is of some use if you're considering this screen. Some pics of the Flowrider screen fully up and fully down and the curve:

As a direct comparison here is a pic of mine with the +5.75" Calsci (now the Large).
You can see it is wider but tapers towards the top.
The cutout also helps to massively reduce forward pressure.
I've hit 130Mph with this screen in full up position with no adverse effects (except for fuel economy!).
If I ever change this screen it will be to get an XL Calsci but am quite happy with the current one.

Cheers.
I wonder how wide yours is at the widest point? It looks to me like the flowrider might be even taller, perhaps its more like the XL???
I quite like the novelty of the back pressure but I guess it will soon wear off, LOL.
Calsci claims the Large is 7.5cm taller than the 2010 and the XL 12cm taller.
The screen on my 2011, which I assume is the taller 2010+ 'touring' version (unless the previous owner swapped it out for the pre-2010 version), is 32cm tall from the top screw. So the Flowrider is 9cm taller than the 2010+.
The Flowrider is only 1.5cm taller than the L Calsci, although it looks taller IMO. But the Flowrider is only 3cm shorter than the XL.
Not sure the extra 3cm height of the XL would make all that much difference (in terms of getting in that silent sweet spot - maybe?), but it's not worth the extra cost, even with the 15cm of extra width for the wider version.
I think I'll stick with the Flowrider for now unless I can try a Calsci wide XL out first and or get one at an unbelievably good price.
The Flowrider height looks good, not sure if the extra 3cm would be too much or not. Seen some yankee C14's with mahoosive screens, way to tall and making the bike look very bad.
If there was a tinted wide XL version I might be more tempted to take the punt. Why not make a tinted version I wonder?
Hi Stephen, the only reason I can think of for the lack of a tinted version is that maybe you have to look through the screen of the taller versions and they might think its not safe
