As Im self employed and my trade has its busier and not so busier times ::) Ive thought of maybe (Once i ger the beast) doing some courier work to make a few extra £££.
So my question is has anybody done this type of work and if so your advice would be very much appreciated ;D
Likewise to those who just want to put your 2 pennies worth in ;)
Gas Man, my first observation would be that your insurance premium on the GTR or on any bike would be enormous. I'm not sure how easy it is these days to break into the courier business, back in the 80's you could walk into a company and be set on almost instantly.
Can you still make a decent living out of being a courier? Certainly back in the good old days, there was a definate market for rapid delivery of documents, films, and the like but with the evolution of fibre optic broadband with speeds of 50mb -100mb & digital photography its not viable to do anything other than email these type of doc's now a days.
Dont even get me going on fuel costs, depriciation of the bike, service costs, etc.
Why not start a bike valeting service, there must be a niche in the market for this type of enterprise, I have never come across one yet, anywhere. Very minimal initial outlay, you could probably work from home, a bit of careful planning and you could have folk queuing at your door. ;D
Oh and if it takes off, dont forget my consultation fee. ;D
ME, CLEAN :o Hmmm - think I'd better stick to the plumbing and heating :D
Was my PM any use to you?
::)After a bit of homework I've come to the conclusion that maybe I'd better think of another sideline
