how are your doings :whistling: just popped in to say hello and see how you lot are doing, loving the ZZR and the Versys but missing the GTR  if Kawasaki update the GTR for 2014 may even consider getting another one, by the way.. any signs of a new model GTR looming? maybe with the 1441 engine  also see Kawasaki have branch into the scooter market with their new J300 http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/kawasaki-j300-scooter-confirmed/23696.html I'm just  it took them so long to jump onto the bandwagon. hope you don't mind me popping in now and again, it will save me introducing myself all over again should Kawasaki get their finger out for a new model 1441 GTR
Dave, where have you been all this time? Doesn't look as though there will be an updated 2014 GTR but hey ho, no worries. I think someone may have previously mentioned that you'd miss the GTR if you got rid. :whistling:
Dave just bite the bullet and get a GTR
Now that I have one, if kawa did being out an updated model I would be tempted
Dave I'll sell you mine for 9k,
Is that with the Sat Nav? :whistling:
where I've I been? well I'm a member of 6 forums and I have a wife that thinks I may have a fancy bit on the side due to the time I spend on theses forums  I 've told her.. one female is more than enough :mfr_lol:
steve.. £9,000 your having a giraffe aren't you  yes I'm missing the GTR but I seem to miss all the bike have sold  maybe having pics of all the bikes I've had on the wall in my garage doesn't help  Asif.. would consider another GTR if Kawasaki brought out a new model, but they would need to make some significant changes  for a start it would be in Kawasaki own interest if the GTR had a adjustable seat with a low standard setting at 805mm for riders that are even shorter that me  that would buy a GTR only if they could reach the deck  and a higher setting of 845mm for lanky riders  other updates should include..
1441 engine "detuned"
Second glove box on the right side
factory fitted cruise control
factory fitted hugger
heated seat with various height settings :whistling:
tyre sensors batteries that can be replaced every other tyre change for the cost of a few quid each
and a ban on snot green ones :mfr_lol:
So, to summarise you want a smaller version of the GTR so you can sit on it?
Here's the perfect one for you :whistling:

How do you find the ZZR comfort wise compared to the GTR for distance ?
£9k is the advertised price and that's a deliberate act so I only get serious buyers.

it would depend on "ones" height and belly size  the ZZR as a seat height of 800mm so tall riders can be cramped, there's also a long reach to the bars so a big gut is a   unless "ones" got arms like a orangutan  which you will have after you have opened the beast up a few times :sweatdrop: so that would not be a problem for long  I've toured France and Italy on a 2008 ZZR1400 and a 2010 GTR1400 and covered over 3,000 miles in 8 days on both trips and on both bikes all I suffered with was a sore arse, but if I sat on my couch at home for 8 hours that would also give me a sore arse  if your thinking of changing to a ZZR you need to test ride one on the motorway for at least two hours the riding position doesn't suit everyone  so will depend on how "ones" made :mfr_lol:

Cheers for that,,,,, No not planning on changing, the ZZR is a lot of bike for the money and would suit me better for the solo trips.....Im just sooooooooooo comfy on the GTR, it has a lowered seat and I dont suffer with 'crampiness'...... Your right about the long test ride I think as the one thing that would come into play now is the bar angle, my wrist strength isn't getting any better these days !!!!
Hello Dave mate ... you back with us for a while ? Go on ... give those "other" forums a rest !

alright nigel  forgot you had defected to the germans :whistling: how is the GS holding up? still happy you've made the right choice?
:mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: Yes I am a real defector and the Gs is brilliant thank you .. no regrets at all. The Gtr is a fantastic bike, all round, but as I have said here before " the itch needed scratching" and life is not a rehearsal.
