The R1 speedo does not go over 299, even though the revs clearly increase...
Is 299 the max they will read?
I imagine so .. perhaps they believe its not politically correct to show more than 299 even if its doing more !
- personal note : having played with a couple of fast cars before , at very high speeds and with a clear road , they're more than a match for a fast bike. Its only in mid range acceleration (eg , traffic intervenes to slow both car and bike) that the bike will pull cleanly away from the car.
- high speed corners : the car is much quicker.
- that bike rider was brave as hell.

Ah, I miss the old girl ! The max I had out of mine with a bit left was an indicated 186mph. Not in UK of course!
Always thought the 4XV carb model 1999 year was the prettiest followed by the 2002. Plus of course the ohlins, and Harris bits as well!
If anyone else migrated from the mighty R1 then shout up!
