Title: White water rafting
Post by: shaggs147 on September 27, 2013, 11:15:40 PM
Had a little fun earlier in the year during the route 66 trip, and thought you might like a little look at it.
Had loads of video to edit, and this was on the first little rapid. Unfortunately, the laptop is showing its age now as it keeps blacking out when editing HD, so I just stuck with this short clip and mixed it with the pics.
The video was shot with a gopro silver edition, but some of the quality has probably been lost in the you tube upload.

Cheers LW,
I was just a bit frustrated that I couldn't edit and do what I wanted to, but still think it looks ok. I now understand why yourself and one or two others have now invested in new laptops!
I took loads of video when traveling through small towns and the like, thinking I was going to make some arty route 66 video, but knew that wasn't going to happen after the first 5 minutes trying to edit a clip  :mfr_lol:

I ended up having better results editing the Go Pro footage on an Ipad than I had on my old laptop, out of curiosity how do you do the super slow motion footage with the water sprays, is that from your video editing software or is it done in the camera.

I think i had the camera set at 50 fps and then just used windows movie maker to slow down the clip. I read your posts on the pinnacle software you have, but just couldn't get the laptop to run it without the video blacking out. movie maker just about managed to run the clip but even that caused the screen to go black at times. I think you could spend hours editing various clips and still be a novice after a year, there seems so much to learn. All good fun though!

Ta for that, I think its quite addictive once you start editing video.

Outstanding, I really enjoyed that, the picture quality and editing are superb, and for me the Stranglers "Golden Brown" has to be one of my all time favourite tracks.

Thanks for sharing

:mfr_lol: no particular reason other than i like the song and just thought it went well with the video. We listened to hundreds of songs on the trip and these were just two of them.

I'm glad you've said that, I was wondering if I was being daft and you two were having a private joke.

Well its no good if I have to explain it to you cos it won't be funny then

White water rafting can be an 'underwear decorating' experience...hence "Golden Brown"   :shit: ...there, do you get it now...   :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Nicely edited video Mark.

Well, I allmost had a "golden brown" experience this september in Westwater canyon, Colorado river north of Moab. Due to extensive rain in Colorado, the river was all but calm this day. Me and my buddy became "swimmers" in one of the rapids, and I can tell you that the Colorado river is cold and tastes like.... Mudd.
