How do people get to take so much kit with them when they go on their travels ? ... All one needs is a change of undies, a toothbrush and a credit card.
Exactly Rusty, and what you can't personally carry in your panniers can be carried in the support vehicles travelling with you.
Please note - there are two helmets.
With that amount of crap I would hazard that one will have female DNA in it.... :whistling:

I quite agree it's way too much stuff! Elaine and I comfortably managed two weeks away in France with a pannier each (using pannier bags for ease of access) and top box had waterproofs and other travel accessories, i.e. first aid kit.

I met a guy on 'Le shuttle' doing just that one year.
He was riding a Ducati something to Italy. All he had was the leathers he was wearing, a bum bag with fags, toothbrush, clean shreddies and a wallet.!
To be fair, the couple on the overloaded bike look like they are camping, the blue bags on the panniers look soft and squidgy enough to be bed rolls, and the top one could be a tent. Not that you would ever get Mrs DB doing THAT!
I spose that how much people take depends on how long they are going to be away
there must be a point when the bikes stability and safety is seriously compromised
