who has them, what difference did they make, do they make you sit higher/ further back/ more comfort ?
thanks
I have a pair of Heli bar risers and IMO they are great. I found the original riding position put too much weight on my wrists which I found very uncomfortable particularly as I have ostia-arthritis in my hands. Since fitting the risers I have had no problem and I find the riding position much more comfortable as I have a more upright riding position and slightly further back. This would be a problem with the original screen but with a calsi xl there are no problems with this at all.
Fitted them, and 3 months later removed them.
Caused wrist and shoulder ache.
It seems I prefer the OEM bar height.
I would like to straighten them out a bit though as I have wide shoulders.
I have got Boomers old risers, and they have been on for years now, and I think they are great, I would not go back to standard. So I guess the answer is to fit a set, if you hate them, sell them on here......... Thanks Boomer ........ lol
thanks chaps , i think boomer is a large lad, maybe why he struggled with them, i goona fab a crude set my self from block ali to see how they perform.
im assuming they go straight in without any cable problems ?
what thickness are they , does anyone know ? 50mm?
2kwaks has bar risers ...... a lovely pair of red stilettos so the barmaid can see him
I am considering bar risers too as I had a slipped disc 6-7 years ago and back will never heal fully. I looked at the Helibars which are 2" higher & 3/4" back and apparently do not require longer cables

I have the 2" and you don't need to change anything else. There's plenty of slack in the cables
Thanks debs for the confirmation.. It will be on my wish list

Yer very welcome.
I do have very long arms and back for my height.
Not quite long enough to scratch my knees without bending though,.... :taz:
Like Deb's I have the 2" risers - made all the difference to my comfort. More upright seating position. No more vibrating in the throttle and the wrist feels more relaxed too.
Ordered some 2inch risers from bykebitz, the ones with he socket and RAM ball... quite like the sport touring adapters too but going to see how I get on with these first.
I ordered mine from here........... http://www.surfsidemoto.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SSM&Product_Code=HELIHR04042&Category_Code=
These people are very helpful with HMRC

Possibly, in the ideal world i would borrow some tonight and use them over the weekend in France/Belgium and copy them next week if they do as they say on the tin.
:mfr_lol:
Alan
I've got some in the garage that I bought from someone here but not got around to fitting them yet. Maybe I'll try this wet weekend!

After Big Alan's borrowed them of course
bar risers 60 mm.with extraction of 12 mm. of the fork legs.
The GTR 1400 is more maneuverable at low speeds with said operation.

MG, do you mean the steering is quicker when you raised the forks in the yokes?

Thanks MG ... I find mine tends to understeer a little ( PR3's fitted ). May be worth a fiddle
Fitted mine last night (http://www.gtr1400.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,3460.0.html), the ones with the Ram Ball and Powerlet socket. Only had a short comute to work today but it's like day and night. HUGE improvement, I don't reckon I'll bother with the sport touring adaptors that bring them back about another inch or so. Look forward to a long ride to test them out.

Ye haaaa, this is what I ordered....
:agree: They arrived and are now fitted ............... Brilliant. 30 Min job from start to finish :)
I just tried to fit the risers I got from Mr Wolf but could not get the slack I needed on the right hand throttle cables etc?
Is there a secret? I nudes the two small bolts holding the fluid pipes but could not get enough slack to fit them.
Must have a weird bike.
Alan
Al they came straight off Lamins bike and the cables weren't over stretched on his.

once you have removed the 2 bolts there should be enough ( just ) slack, follow the cables/pipes down the forks and make sure they are not cabletied, you may have to redo the ties in order to release a bit more slack
