My new gtr came with bt021's. how many miles have people got out of these? The reason i ask By the end of this weekend they will have done 3k miles and will do another 2k around Scotland in 2 weeks.from experience I think I may need to change them, what your thoughts?
I changed mine at 5,500 miles from new, but the rear was badly squared off by then, The front had more life in it though.
As soon as you can, get them changed for a decent tyre, something like the PR3.
5500 miles for me too. Both squared off. PR3's fitted today. Feel big difference already and haven't scrubbed them in yet (I will be doing that tomorrow). BT021's are :censored: in my opinion.

OEM tyres on the GTR are the worst I've ever had on a new bike...... Changed both at 3500-4k.... (But that was on a mk1 GTR).
Everyone is raving about th PR3's.... Not in my book! But actually all tyres are ok.
Have a look at Z8's by Metzerler... Dedicated Motorcycle Tyre Manufacturer. (OEM for BMW as well).
And you get to chase Elephants... ;-). (Markers on the side of the tyre showing lean angle)

Cheers guys, had pr3's on my old gtr and found them fine... Think I may struggle as I think it maybe a quick ride :-)
PR3's for me too ...they are a great tyre.
Well I scrubbed in my new PR3's today. 130 miles town and country roads. So much better. Didn't realise how bad BT021's were. Only time will tell for longevity but highly recommend for now.

Mark you will get plenty of miles out of those PR3's even if you ride it fairly hard.
A couple of months ago I had the chance to test a new 2013 GTR.
I rode there on my part worn PR3s, rode the test on the OEM tyres.
The ride home was far more fun.
I'd choose worn PR3 over new BT021s.
Are Kawasaki deaf? They tyre is :shit:, :censored: :censored: :shit:.
Please stop supplying the bike with this tyre. You are LOSING SALES!
Every time I read BIKE magazines brief description of the 1400GTR I think, " :shit: tyres caused that opinion"
Booked in for Friday - nice new rubber, cheers all
Numbers of French GTR owners are switching to the Pirelli Angel GT, apparently even better than Michelin PR3, I will try them on my next change...
I considered the GT3's but there wasn't enough reviews about them. All the folks on here and elsewhere recommended the Michelins so they're what I chose. Maybe GT3's next time.
Mark
Change them when you get fed up / frightened by the dodgy squared off handling :surrender:
