Hey guys,
Any idea how to remove this ''black dirt'' from those parts?
They are made in aluminium and I would like them to shine again..
I have tried high pressure water...didn't worked.. Is there a magic product for it?
Thanks from France

Are you refering to the TAR spots? if so WD 40 shifts it easy peasy.
Or Auto Glym Intensive Tar Remover, which is for sale here from Halfords.
I find a large tin of elbow grease works well :whistling:
i think you'll find that the end cans ect are painted ,so if i were you i would spray the end cans, as for the other bit's i removed mine from the bike ,stipped the paint and polished them with autosol and a buff in my battery drill, makes a big improvement on the looks
Take a look at the photo of my bike ... Oh .. Sorry ... Er... Yes .. Look at Asif's new sparkly wonder bike and you will see ( you listening Asif ? ) that it has been cleaned with a soft yellow cloth and Autosol ... Smack a load on ,rub it all in ... The cloth will go filthy black, turn the cloth to a new bit .. Wipe it all off and bingo ... End bit with no marks or stains ! :mfr_lol:
Hey guys,
SO autosol wil do it for my foot rest?
If you look at the gearbox aluminium case on the above photo, it is realy shinny and nice.
THis is the feel that I would like to end with.
Will autosol do it?
Merci encore
hi to get the polished shine ,you will need to remove the foot pegs /hangers off the bike takes five minutes, take the rubber off your foot pegs,i used nitromors to strip off the aluminium paint ,once the paint is off or just about off as you always get bits of paint hanging on,i used wire wool, and after that i secured the parts in a vice obviously protecting the parts and polised them with a mop and autosol in my battery drill .once you have polished them like this and put them back on the bike a polish evey now and then with autosol keeps them as new, it really made my bike stand out from the others ,,got loads of good comments about them,
heres another pic of the polished hangers
Oui..... Autosol is an excellent product for all your Gtr needs.
If you think thats dirty Badaboum then there's no way I'm putting a picture of my bike on here :mfr_lol:
The part ain't perfectly cleam = she is dirty :mfr_lol:
This may be a better product as it is a cream rather than paste based product.
I've used it on my classic bikes and its very good

well,
Thanks for your help guys
I am gonna purchase one of those 2 and try them next month!!
Merci!!
dont forget its no good trying to polish them without stripping off the aluminium paint first
ok
thanks for the input.
How do I do that?
as i said earlier ,it is very easy to remove the footrest hangers,i used a plastic container and soaked them in paint stripper, then the next day using wire wool polished them to get all of the paint off then started to polish them with a mop on my battery drill, you will be pleased when you have done it ,couple of hours should see it done ,post some before and after pictures , happy polishing keith
ok
Great. I'll do so. I just need to find some time..
THanks for your help, and I'll keep you posted with some pictures
