just seen this on the other forum....scared the shit out of me,lets be careful out there!!! http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b2f_1374272723
Well it was only a matter of time, he was an accident waiting to happen..
If you ride like a Tw*t you will certainly end up looking like one in my opinion.
I guess all you can say about that is that at least no innocent road user died, feel sorry for the car/van drivers involved though.
You won't live long if you choose to ride like that
Nasty.
yes he put himself in that situation , but what exactly was the car driver doing that he went to overtake , looking at the footage the car would have forced the traffic coming the other way to have to move , wonder if he got done for dangerous driving , also his mate got 51 weeks suspended , drinkdrivers even on their 2-3 times caught don't get that , as the ray wilkings case which as just come up shows , it seems that speeding is worse than drink driving . even tho nearly all the deaths around our way are drink realated, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Nasty stuff. At those sort of speeds and the way they were overtaking they were putting a lot of people in danger, not just theirselves. A lot of drivers just wouldn't of had time to see them. Imagine if they stuffed it into the back of a family car, they'd have probably wiped out the kids in the back. We all like to have a little play at times, but not like that. Sorry for all involved, but not a great deal of sympathy I'm afraid, it was inevitable.
Ps ... spot on Shaggs.

Have to agree, spot on shaggs and I've no sympathy for the riders I'm afraid.

It doesn't matter that the driver of the car is a moron too and that some drunk drivers get of lightly.
Other people have gone to jail for doing lesser speeds on motorways so some may say he got off lightly too.
So what do you think they should have done instead?
Sponsor him to compete in the next TT or give him free track day tickets?
I personally think his riding was reckless at times, especially going through intersections at over 90 mph and some of the overtaking is dodgy to say the least, but I have seen worse.
But I reckon the 51 months ban is what he deserves for giving that footage to the plod. :whistling:
shocking guys!,an as i was watching i was cringing!,,,thing is, guys who ride like that give us genuine guys a hard time, how many times have you been out an a loony like this screams past you,n you think "idiot"?,,,
Then someone finds out your a biker an immediatly they relate you to that bike that hurtled past them in the car!!.
I agree with the previous comments, especially the innocent family in the car!!!,dont want to even think of tha,,,how the hell would you live with that i dont know
OOooof!! That's nasty.
Totally outrageous behaviour.
:censored:
Nasty stuff and yet take any Sunday during the summer months, take a drive/ride up towards The Lakes and you will see riders behaving in EXACTLY the same manner.
It's bloody frightening how little value some people put on their own lives and how little respect some people have for other road users.
I was shown a similar clip from when I did my bikesafe course with Dorset Police. The guy who recorded it was riding like a complete knob.. At the time I thought this guy is dicing with death. It was shocking to watch how he was inconsiderate to everyone on the road. Filtering at around 70 in heavy traffic and riding as fast as possible on winding roads.. 2 weeks later [after the vid] he was killed riding in the same manner.. The video was given to the police by the family to educate bikers of how NOT to ride. Unfortunately there will always be those who think they are invincible and inconsiderate.

:agree:
seen this clip before but can't remember where! I think we all like to open our bikes up now and again, but common sense tells us where and when  sadly... that rider learned the hard way and paid with his life  looking at that clip I would have not took that over take at that time  the car that overtook was to close to the car in front of him, which is a strong indication the car driver was not paying attention at the time and most likely will brake or pull out/overtake with out checking his mirrors. the rider should have waited till the car driver back off or over took.. if neither of theses where to happen soon! I would have waited till the oncoming traffic was clear then went for a wide overtake  I also think cameras on bikes brings the devil out in some riders  it tells the biker in front that he will look a dam sight cooler when played back if he tries to go faster down that straight road or around that bend, same with the camera biker. I don't use bike cameras, I don't need to look any cooler  I've got a certain pace I adhere to, it may be to slow or to fast for some bikers. but I don't give a dam :nono: I'm to old in the teeth to feel I need to prove anything to anyone, I understand there are bikers out there that use the bike camera for.. well" lets say for sensible use!! which is fine and will most likely live long enough to view the footage!
just my two penneth worth and must point out.. that bike cameras are brilliant when used by sensible riders for reminiscing on that bike trip
2kwacks you have a good point there regarding cameras on bikes. It's a bit like the last lap on a track day....don't do it. Anyway, when I was out with LW last week and knowing he had a camera blu-tac'd to his helmet; I got up to 40 and roared past that cow! :mfr_lol:
I got up to 40 m.p.h to over take Steve  I told you cameras bring the devil out in some riders :mfr_lol:
Andy, :mfr_lol: I don't think the camera was quite blu-tac'd was it? It's damn near welded on, I know Winston will verify when they're on, they're on.
However I digress, Andy didn't do any wheelie's or burnout's etc. It was a very sedate ride back to Skipton, my view is camera or no camera you still ride your own ride, there are many of us on here who have had some form of further bike training and I think it's fair to say that the GTR doesn't normally attract idiotic riders.
Just one thing that was niggling me when we left the Tan Hill Inn, Andy said to me, "You have your own unique riding style", I still don't know what he actually meant by that.
I obviously meant you had that IAM style... that's what I meant... honestly
:sweatdrop: this may save me from a short arse scouser bashing.... :mfr_lol:
Well I'm happy with the way I ride. Andy, no, I didn't bother mentioning it.
Some achievement so well done :biker3:you must have made amends with the IAM? Last I heard you'd fallen out.
It was RoSPA I fell out with. I've found IAM to be good and would have no hesitation in recommending the West Yorkshire Group.
