Loose gravel - low speed - managed to stay under it once it passed the point of no return and minimised damage. Need n new mirror, front plastic with fins on is scraped, as is the exhaust cover and a slightly scraped rear pannier ( oh- and the grey plastic bodywork that joins the bit with fins on - edge of that is damaged too :( ------ I live near Newcastle and if anyone knows a good body repairer It would be appreciated ??? ------ )excess is £400 and I don't fancy shelling that out if I could get it repaired cheaper !! ) thanks in advance !
( and to make things worse - on close examination of the damage I noticed a thin nail in my rear tyre which on 'wiggling' it - air will escape --- and lots of wear left in the tyre too ----- can it be repaired or will that make my bad morning a really shit one ?
Ouch! Sympathies.
I did mine a few months back on the second trip out - I have found a local body shop that will do the wing mirror, lower front offside fairing and black lower and the scraps on the pannier for £250, So saving my excess etc. I have it booked in for end of the month as I have the Weymouth Veterans Parade to attend this weekend.
 rough luck.
If you need exhaust covers I could take them off this

dont look like its going to sell as it is due to the hastle of welding due to the non std pipe.
Ouch !!! Not nice I know ( has happened to me as well but got panels and mirror repaired through insurance ).
As for the tyre, if the damage ( nail ) is not on the sidewall of the tyre, you can have it repaired. I suggest that you have a mushroom plug fitted though ( from the inside ). I have had one in my rear tyre for a long time now and have had no issues.
If the damage is on the wall of the tyre, I am afraid you will have to get a new one. Not safe to repair the sidewall.
Deon
So you broke the bikes fall by letting it drop on you!
The bike can be fixed, I hope YOU are alright, I wouldn't want 300 kilos plus falling on me.
Hope you get it sorted quickly and are able to get back out to enjoy the rest of the summer.
My "little" spill resulted in my offside mirror snapping off at the aluminium spar running across the frame. The mirror is pretty much unmarked though and if yours is offside and mag grey then pm me an email addy and ill send you a few pics.
TT.
thanks for the off but unfortunately mine's green !!
