collected my new versys 1000 today  got up this morning nice and early and the sun was shining. thought may get away with the rain with the 40 mile round trip to the dealers. thought if it's going to rain please let it rain on the way then I don't need clean the shit of the bike  but  the sun was out and not a spot of rain in sky all the way to the dealers. then would you "adam and eve it" as soon as they brought the versys 1000 out of the showroom it lashed it down  then it lashed it down even more all the way home  then spent the next 2 hours in the garage getting all the :shit: off  first impressions, big improvement on the 650 versys which is only to be expected, don't get me wrong... I thought the 650 versys was a excellent bike for commuting and having fun on  but with me being more use to zzr1400's and the gtr1400 I could not get on with the brakes, size, engine or power. but like the look of the versys and the riding position so decided to trade it for it's big brother, here is a few pics :002: sorry the pics are in the garage :003: but it started bloody raining again  p.s my garage is normally clean and tidy but my daughter is moving into her own house this weekend and most of her crap as been chuck in my garage  and if I say anythink, I'm reminded.. it's just a garage :hammer: just need some decent weather now to run the bugger in and get it's first service done

Very nice that Dave, I think they look better in White though . Did Orrell put the Vario screen on, or did ya do it yerself ?, and what about the crash bars, genuine Kawasaki ?, self fitted ?. Looking forward to seing you and the bike next week up at The Bridge.

keith.. how are you doing then? hope your loving the 1441  well what can I say :surrender: could not get on with the brakes, power and the twin cyclinder engine on the 650  suppose I could have give it longer than 3 months and to be honest I thought I would have no choice in the matter  but called into orrel motorcycles with a mate, and was telling the salesmen who sold me 1441 that I original bought the 650, because like the look of it and the riding position and to commute to work on  "my car a thirsty bugger" but should have gone with my first thoughts and got the ltr model. he suggested to p/x for the ltr one  I said  I will loose to much dosh in a short time :sweatdrop: anyway to cut along story short.. he got back to me later the same day and due to me buying from him before and recommending a few mates to him who have also bought new, and with the 650 being like a new bike with 700 miles on the clock and the touring model he did me a stonking deal  so it was either live with the 650 for a few years and not be 100% happy with it  or take advantage of the current market and the excellent deal he offered me on a new unreg zero mile 2013 1000 model  so under the circumstances it was a  brainer
P.S how long did you have your GTR and the hayabusa for :whistling:  :mfr_lol:

yes Geoff bars are the genuine Kawasaki one's which where ordered at orrel and fitted on the P.D.I check  bought the screen myself and drop it of when I was passing so it would already be on the bike when I collected it
Refuse... to get into the "old colour" slagging off bollocks  had enough of that with the much  er magnesium V the snot green colour  so don't want to upset you with the cool moonstone grey V the :shit: e white colour  besides your on a looser here!! your "bestie friend" as gone for the moonstone grey as well  :mfr_lol:
never had the busa that long i must admit but that was just because i regretted selling my green 1441. and your fault for putting me onto orrel, the gtr was a bit longer, must admit after dealing with orrel and talking to james the salesman i dont think there are any other dealers who can match there deals.i have reccomended them to a few people.when / if i decide to change my 1441 for something smaller i will be going back to orrel,my problem is not being able to ride much due to work and mainly now the shit weather ,got just over 1000 miles up.
Weird looking tyre you've got on there.
Congrats  on your new bike Dave. What you like?
Nice one Dave ... looks good .. even better when you have got all the shite out of your garage ! :mfr_lol:

Nah, I think you are just a bit peeved that I got the last White one, and you and Rog got lumbered with the Silver/grey colour. Any how I will bet a pound to a pinch of :shit: that Kawasaki sold more of those lovely green ones than your MUD  coloured one. No wonder ya got rid of it sharpish  Oy and leave my bestist friend alone he's lovely
:mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
So it pissed it down as soon as you took possession of the new bike and kept pissing it down all the way home, what does that tell you? At least you had the adjustable screen to keep you dry, oh, sorry that's the GTR, well at least you had the heated grips to keep your hands warm, oh sorry, that's the GTR. Well I bet you were grateful for the protection of the fairing, oh sorry that's the........ :mfr_lol:
Anyone else thinking of buying a Versys, SPEAK NOW!!!!!! :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Im sure you will enjoy the bike 2K, looks good in any colour.
Theres three of you now which one of you is 'Ewen' and which one is 'Charlie', suppose the third one can be called 'Gooseberry' :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Mr meckie.. the model is classed a adventure bike  so the tyres are designed with that in mind  they are the scorpion trail tyres but still give excellent feed back and grip in all weathers and hopefully won't wear down as fast as the zzr1441 tyres :whistling:
 us lovers  are off again!!! :mfr_lol:

steve.. 2 out of 3 ain't bad for you  but you should pay a visit to specsavers  the screen on the versys is adjustable and if you look at the left handlebar you will see the versys as heated grips :mfr_lol:
Dave I was just testing you to see how knowledgeable you are on the new toy.

steve.. the weather and rain protection is quite good on the versys  the way Kawasaki have designed the fairing around your knees, most of the wind and rain weather is bounce off and around your legs
P.S Anymore.... Criticism on my new toy   :hammer:     :mfr_lol:
if I decide to change my 1441 ..... If I remember correctly, you've been down this road before  when you sold your 2012 zzr1441 and you were   so I would think long and hard before you make the same mistake twice. I've had 2 zzr1400's and when I sold my 2008 zzr1400 I regretted, it took me 2 years to get another one  the zzr1441 is a amazing machine and to be honest.. I don't know how you can top that!! I know it looks like I change my bikes regularly. I normally keep my bikes for years  but it was the 2012 zx6r and the 650 versys that I've not kept long, and that was my fault for refusing to believe that I was getting "to old in the teeth" for super sports  and for thinking I would be happy just to commute on the versys 650 and only for orrel motorcycles giving me good p/x values and discounts on new bikes, I would had  choice but to live with my mistakes for a few years :sweatdrop: I'm not going to say that's it now, I'm happy with what I've got  the old saying springs to mind!! never say never... but I won't be getting rid of the zzr1441 :nono: and I did like the look of the versys and the riding position and now I have the ltr versys with the stopping power and grunt  I can't see me swapping the ltr versys for many years to come either

OK 2K, you are defrauding our Government i will report you to the mototcycle style crew for having a sub-standard cheap sh1t TAX DISC HOLDER with NO TAX DISC !!!!!!!, I DEMAND you put things right by placing the TAX DISC ( some of us have to pay you know ) in a more suitably attired TAX DISC HOLDER. If the afore mentioned is not adhered to within seven days, i will have no choice but to slag you and your TAX DODGING VERSYS.
BTW - find a better place to put it, looks like its going to go through the front caliper
Is that better now 2k, i hope i have made you feel at home. :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
just niticed dave zedmeister is right, you have no disc in your tax disc holder, did you know? its funny that because when i received my 1441 from orrel after my fiirst ride out i returned to find that my disc holder was exactly the same as yours ,empty!! no tax disc in the holder.lucky for me one of my neighbours had picked it up and gave me it back,i then fitted another tax disc holder as the one they supply is nothing but crap.
... I don't mind Criticism when it warranted  and your correct about one thing! the dealer put the tax disc in a :shit: awful place, I removed the tax disc from holder while I was cleaning the bike so it would not get soaked when using the hose pipe  as you can see by the pic... the tax holder is now relocated to the left rear of the bike  I don't like the big :shit: looking tax holders that you need to use a spacer behind it's bracket so it clears what ever it secured, plus they stand out a mile and are even more butt ugly
hope this clears up any bollocks about reporting me to the tax man :mfr_lol:

It does bring to light, securing the tax disc though.
Out of interest I can report that my ride out today on my new toy (Versys1000) was excellent, myself Geoff and two other pals left Devils Bridge at 10 bells and roughly rode across country through Sedbergh, Penrith, Brampton, Lockerbie, Hawick, Moffat to St:Marys on the Loch, where we had a lovely plate plate of Sausage Egg and chips, plus a bun and a brew of course, and then we rode back home on a circular route, taking in some stunning scenery and all in lovely dry bright weather, I got home at 5.45pm after covering just a little over 300 very, very comfortable and quick miles, the company was great the riding was stunning and I have to say the big Versys was a revelation
Where did everyone else ride out to today ?
Roger, if you'd have taken the M6 you could have cut miles off that journey.

And then you would have returned home the same way with nothing but flashing (slowly) white lines burned into your eyes, and lungs full of exhaust fumes :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Do I assume that no one else took their GTR out for a ride yesterday ....tut tut :whistling:

Rog, Glad you got home in time to see to your doggie  , Yes great day out, good weather, great company  , and fantastic scenery. Just one thing though I know that we were getting a shift on, but we must have been on a mission going through Lockerbie !!!, due to the fact that I missed it  . Did we really go through it?. if so I need :help:. Either that, OR we were so dizzy after hundreds of miles of roads that were build for having fun on motorbikes , that my eye sight is failing, ( I am 65 ya know ). 350 miles on the white flash when I arrived home at my palace at 7-30. Yes we stopped at the Bridge for tea and cakes (like ya do ) and a bit of a chin wag, then a spirited ride through the Dales back to base. Great day, roll on the rest of summer.
Yep we did go through Lockerbie Geoff, and the roads were empty, it was agreat ride out
See ya for a natter and brew(s) at t'Bridge Wednesday
