I'm a newbie here, so I hope I'm not out of line here but I'm noticing you guys don't have what every bike forum needs, a dedicated pic thread for folks to show their ride!
Maybe the mods here can make this a sticky thread?? :undecided:
I'll get it started, here's some shots of mine, in oem color and now in ZX14R green... :punk:

Here's some better shots of the gold wheels, they turned out even better than I expected. I had them soda blasted, then electroless nickel plated, then yellow zinc plated, then clear coated over top of that. Very sparkly in the sun and when light hits them they show signs of blue/green/red/etc, kinda like the inside of a seashell.

Old habits are hard to break.
My tax disc was kept in the topbox for nearly 3 years ... If Asif rummages about I'm sure he can find it ! :mfr_lol:
After getting my tax disc stolen 3 times in one year (London) I bolted it under the seat.
Only got pulled once and he let me go after I showed him the disc.
Will be a relief when we no longer have to display it.

Your attached VT talks of "Riding in a Hot State"............over here a gentleman with true brit stiff upper lip would never admit to such a thing especially as the words "Riding" (verb) and "Hot" (noun) are normally used expressively on the subject of the opposite gender............................... :whistling: Well you get my drift. :mfr_lol:

As it is Jay................. Well :listencarefully: Lock your daughter up  as without doubt you've created one........................

Ya, the thing I really like about this setup is it also allows me to do other minimal swaps outs in the future to get the same result but with other highlight colors. I could powder coat up another set of wheels in say blue or red etc and then paint some badges to match and put those on 4 more black panels (tail sides and outer mids) and paint up 2 more inner mids with the vents to color match as well and be done. Then it's just a matter of swapping out those 6 panels and the wheels and walla another color combo with a different highlight color! Much easier an less expensive as a full body swap!

A lot of us U.S. riders are also into the Adventure (ADV) website.
http://advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16
We do a sort of "tag" game, we call it "Tag-O-Rama", where you see a pic of a bike posted somewhere, and figure out where it is, ride there, photo your bike, and post it for a "grab", then you post a "Tag" and someone else goes after it... I broke the wife in for L/D riding on that game, and the "Salute" is called the "ADV Salute"...
she's a natural at it.... :single fuck: and now gives it every shot she's in along with the bike....

I've experienced the traffic in Singapore, how there aren't more accidents I have no idea! Everybody constantly lane changing at warp factor 6.
Nice photos anyway, you are a very lucky man living there.

The Mrs and I on the Blue Ridge Parkway near the terminus/entrance (Waynesboro, VA). She's looking eastwards towards Charlottesville VA.
Is that a Russell Jim?
Skyline Drive & the BRP are fun but speed limits too low and lots of slow traffic.
Yep, it's a Russell. I've got to send it back for an adjustment. For some reason the seating area for me has shrunk. I don't usually travel the BRP (for a trip) unless it's the middle of the week. Then there really isn't much traffic (even in high summer) at all. However we just decided to do the 5 miles to Humpback Rocks and return. Wasn't much traffic on that Sunday and the visitor center hadn't opened yet.

Yes, the black has got blue fleck in the paintwork which shows in the sun. Pipe was fitted and also had the standard pipe all wrapped in bubble wrap.

Those pipes aren't cheap still have the original on mine as you say the blue speck looks good when the light catches it.

This is my bike, affectionately known as Kelpy. Pictured with The Kelpies, Falkirk, Scotland.
Kelpie, or water kelpie, is the Scots name given to a shape-shifting water spirit inhabiting the lochs and pools of Scotland. It has usually been described as appearing as a horse, but is able to adopt human form. Some accounts state that the kelpie retains its hooves when appearing as a human, leading to its association with the Christian idea of Satan.

Looks fantastic in red: colour coded belly-pan is a nice touch! Is that a standard colour option in the US?
I'm a bit confused about the handlebars, and why the exhaust seems to be on the "wrong" side??
Cheers

The color is custom paint, used the Kawi Passion Red that they used on the ZX14R, the handlebars are from Precision Engineering (fully adjustable in many directions), the exhaust is a full Muzzys dual exhaust in carbon fiber that I had ceramic coated...

2017 was the last picture posted, looks like this GTR forum is starting to dry-up? I guess the model run has ended in the UK and the Versys and H2SX are the new kids on the block from Kawasaki. Strangely I am going backwards as the GTR meets my requirements ;)
The die hard members are still here. Although momentum has eased over the last year or so on the forum, it is still a good source of information and although many members have moved onto other bikes, we still like to meet up once a year for the GTR annual meet which sometimes looks more like just a bunch of blokes out for a ride together rather than a hardcore bunch of GTR owners.
OK, here's one for you......

Its surprising how not a lot of money would tidy that up no end. Start with some Harpic "X" cleaner on the header and link pipes. Works wonders. A few replacement stainless bolts here and there around the back end...
On my old GTR, I picked it up for £5200 18 months ago in a similar state. Did lots of replacementts like that and I've just traded it for £5500...

Oh yes... she will get cleaned within an inch of her life! The harpic x trick is one I have seen but not yet tried.
I have bigger plans too... colour change and somehow have to get the frame colour to stay put... seems boots rub it off.
Needs a replacement fairing lower on the other side and I would love to get rid of that silly noisy exhaust in favour of something like an Akrapovic... if anyone has one in their garage 🤣🤣

Yes it was my Sony a7r2. They've come down a lot in price now as it's an old model. I also have a Sony A9 which is my preferred camera due to its incredible focus speed. It's sold as a sports camera which is perfect for fast dog photography, now that was expensive when I bought it two years ago. It set me back £4500. Stick a full frame prime lens on it and you're talking more than I paid for my first house back in the 80's. :mfr_lol:

I don't think I've been fishing since I lived in Scotland as a kid. We used to go fly fishing like JR Hartley if you remember the TV advert. Salmon and trout were our prime targets.
Our local rivers were teeming with trout and I also recall the salmon at a local place called Findhorn where they would be leaping out of the water to get up stream to lay their eggs. Quite a sight to behold.

I don't think I've been fishing since I lived in Scotland as a kid. We used to go fly fishing like JR Hartley if you remember the TV advert. Salmon and trout were our prime targets.

I remember the yellow pages add well :mfr_lol:
You was spoiled seeing things like that I'm into course fishing catch, weigh and return 👍
Not game fishing as you mention 👍
New gifts: risers, gel seat, MRA windshield. Ready to fight
Magnesium, the best colour!
Indeed!
In a world full of black&silver colours, it's a rare flower
GREEN
Looks good. Just be aware that the magnesium bikes are usually slower than the black or green ones.

Agree, Metallic Magnezium Grey & Dark Green are the Best colours
But the slowest!
As someone with an unusual amount of time on his hands at the moment I decided to knock up a photo album on Flicker - a sort of set of postcards from the GTR on its travels in Europe so far:

I'd done the same for the GSX a few years ago (the GTR is not quite so well travelled yet but hopefully it will catch up)

thanks, Ienjoyed the pics, Imagine that the GSX is a very different animal to tour on compared to your GTR
My old lady.
PS. It's not just the view, black is the best colour 😉(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/867749c509e089364882d156a3b15e55.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200626/5a9be818c72358b5f591d8d38a4f005a.jpg)

Chopped in my Stelvio in 2017. One of my better decisions (although I still have a 1100 Sport and am on the hunt for a Centuro) I think we may be going as far as Morecombe this year.
This was us in 2018, Calais to Travemund to Helsikni to Norcapp to Kristiansand and back via Denmark.
Deleted for you as requested.
I hear Morecambe is good at this time of the year. :mfr_lol:
there are some who would argue that Morecambe isn't that good at any time of year :mfr_lol:
We'll find out next weekend, close to the Yorkshire Dales and of course Sunday @ Kirby Lonsdale. Fingers crossed, on the plus side no bloody tolls getting there like the Italian Lakes last year.

I was being facetious Ray.... I lived just outside Grange-over-Sands, (which is on the opposite shore of the Morecanbe estuary) for 10 years and the whole area is very pretty, a one day visit doesn't do justice but you will enjoy your time there, I hope that it isn't too busy with traffic.
This pic was taken of my 2010 GTR1400 in 2011 on my Belgium/Germany/France and Italy trip  the pic was taken at Lake Garda  As far as I'm concerned the GTR1400 was one of the best touring bikes produced for comfort.. it had more than enough power to put a  on yea face.. and for a big bike it handled quite good.
Owned it for 3 years and covered 10,000 miles touring Europe/Cornwall/Scotland and of course the Lower load inn gtr1400 meet  at the time I also owned a 2008 df8 ZZR1400 in atomic silver which I also toured Europe on in 2009 as I'm a short Arse I found the ZZR1400 to be just as comfortable/quicker and did prefer the ZZR to GTR so much so... had 4 ZZR 1400's over the years as could not find a suitable replacement :nono: until kawasaki introduced the H2 sx se  simular power to the ZZR but it's the way the power is produced and is more comfortable for touring with sharper more precise handling with the added bonus of cruise control/heated grips/panniers/cornering A.B.S/cornering lights/quickshifter/Launch control/full colour multi function T.F.T screen and of course that Super charger which when your reach 4,000 revs it's warp time :sweatdrop:

You were right OC, Morecambe is a rather sad place. 15 mins away however there are some lovely roads. Kirkby Lonsdale doesn't welcome bikes anymore but Hawes was packed with bikes.
We stayed at the Midland Hotel, don't bother massively overpriced and a bit run down. There's a nice Best Western there if you're staying up there.

Kirkby Lonsdale doesn't welcome bikes anymore????
Since when?
I was there yesterday afternoon on my way back from the Forest of Bowland and I had to park in the overflow carpark it was that rammed with bikes and that was on a Friday.
Kirkby Lonsdale has been a regularand popular meeting place forbikers for more years than Ican remember, there are signs there that prohibit cars from parking at weekends and Bank Holidays.
The chap who runs the burger stand would definitely have something to say if bikes were no longer welcome there!

Used to be a guy called Kerry , a fine big Geordie lad... very nice fella actually
The 2 burger stalls were on the outskirts, there wasn't a single bike in the town itself.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't any bikes at Devils Bridge which is on the outskirts (1-2 miles on the A65) of Kirkby Lonsdale, it is a hugely popular meeting place for bikes and has been for many years

Where was that taken?
An old postal road, mostly single track in Norway.
I wish it was closer, I'd love to go again...
The GTR is a bloody good looking bike...Great picture
This photo of me and my bike was taken at the Barnstaple Bike Night in September 2021
.
I think that quite suits it, you've certainly made it your own.
I generally don't like White vehicles BUT your bike looks great
.
They do look good in white but I hate following white bikes. Every time I follow one on a motorway a car will pass me, see the white bike slow down and pull back in pushing me out of the way. So, I refuse to follow white bike now,... or I leave a huge gap.
Or maybe a vivid GREEN

A little selective shot as the sun caught the bike at Oxen Cove, Brixham a couple of weeks ago.
