Had mine done, if I remember they remove some plate to give clearance and put some modified bit back on, it literally is a belt and braces change that's all.

I want to get  mine done but the nearest dealer is Ilford or Colchester.
Since I need to get a big service done (51k miles so valves, plugs, everything!) at the same time, I need to be able to book it all on a Saturday.
Once I've ridden to either dealer I am then stuck there all day unless they do a courtesy bike.
Bloody pain since John E. Vines closed down.

If it needs doing K UK will send you a letter and just book your Gtr into your local dealer and all work carried out for free .... About 30 minute job if that.

Hi

They didnt send me a letter, but mine needs doing and is booked in this Friday.
Told them it was a trike, service manager said as long as the brake master etc is original, and the trike conversion does not make the job harder it will not be a problem.

Took mine in to M&P in Swansea, few raised eyebrows because its a trike, I pointed out I did tell the guy I booked it in with...
Anyway they did it, took about 30 mins

The brake pedal is now much lower than it was, the first 25mm or so of movement does nothing - just takes up all the free play they left in between the push rod and master, and the push rod lock nut is lose........, all in all  :shit:

Dunno if I can be bothered to complain or just sort it out myself, it will take longer to take it down there than it will to do it properly.

I think you'd better sort it yourself Richard, at least that way you know its done correctly

And then I would complain about the dealers   :shit: workmanship

Yep, thats crap. No way should there be 25mm of movement that does nothing....

Having studied it the new part they fitted appears to be too short.
I ended up removing it and adapting a bit from the junk box to do the job, its now perfect, about 2mm of free movement and then brakes.

As far as I can tell all the parts were as Kawa fitted, no mods for the trike.
How much free travel, just taking up the free play between the push rod and the master cylinder, against the return spring pressure does everyone else have?

I got mine done recently and once on the bike,  I realised that brake pedal was badly adjusted. When I got home I adjusted it myself and took up all the extra threads on the new part installed. I also have lowering brackets on my footrests too. No big deal really easy job and all sorted now.

On mine if I used the new part and adjusted out the free movement the eye was only on the threaded rod from the master by about 2 threads, and the end of the rod has a flat each side with no thread so I was not happy with this and made up a new part.
Maybe something on mine is non standard

Sounds like yours has been messed with already Richard maybe during conversion process. Would be interested to see pictures of your trike.
