Got back from the TT early Friday morning, WOW only had 4 days there but what a fantastic time. Only saw one days racing ( wednesday) Totally awesome, just got massive respect for all the racers.This was my first time certainly will not be the last already booked for next year and managed to get 8 days this time. The ferry crossing to IOM was packed, 3 x school trips, screaming kids all over the place like marauding ants. The return trip was so much better sitting on the top deck watching the sun go down over the island.
The racing was fantastic especially the sidecars you can't imagine the speed they go at unless you are there. We based ourselves at Creg Ny Baa in one of the Grandstands, the best £20 i have ever spent. I just dont know how they got around the corner they must have been on rails, heart stopping stuff. On the non racing days we toured the island and what a great place it is, stunning scenery fantastic people. Obviously we did the course absolutely amazing how they manage averaging 130 mph i do not know. The only problem was the wannabe racers, overtake - undertake- if they could they would have rode over you too!!!, the mountain was frightening no speed limits just lots and lots of idiots. I will do the course again but very early or very late in the day.
The pits were a an eye opener, millions of pounds of machinery on display i was drooling. Managed to see several riders mainly giving interviews to TV etc or got their head in the bike engine. Angie got a picture with Steve Parrish.
The whole atmosphere was electric either racing days or not, wall to wall bikes of every kind, filled every available space, the police were excellent having a laugh with everyone very helpfull when i was asking for directions. We visited some local attractions, tried to get on the mountain railway but the queues were massive so gave up on that one. We did get to the Ramsey Sprint and see some very very fast bikes. The camp site was heaving, music till 1am, but TBH we loved it. The weather was roasting, we both look like cooked lobsters underneath our clothing.
The whole experience was amazing if you ever get chance to go, grasp it with both hands, roll on next year, counting down already.

ROS -- if there was ever one thing you have to do, you really have to go to the IOM TT, put it on your bucket list. I have to say there were sooooo many other nationalities there than uk nationals. By far the Italians and Germans and such friendly people.
