Title: change of colour
Post by: kwakatlast on June 04, 2013, 10:55:15 PM
Deal was finalised  today on my GTR, was due to order a green one from another dealer as he said it was the only colour they could supply the GT pack with. Was happy with that till I popped into another dealer on my way to work on Saturday, and saw a GTR in "candy red". Gonna have to bash the overtime to pay the extra, but have got a good deal and the bonus of the GT pack included.   The deal clincher though was the salesman saying red was the fastest colour  :mfr_lol:  Now to tell the mrs how much  :whistling:

You don't see many candy red ones, the green ones are as common as muck to be honest. You've gone for the best deal.

It is a Kawasaki UK offer.
When I bought mine last year, it was SatNav mount, pannier inner bags, top box, clear film body protection on panniers and tank. For the same price as a regular GTR

The Candy red is a great colour, but not the fastest

I was able to negotiate as Doebag did. Albeit without the clear film protection. I got an external cover for it as well. I have used that once in the garage...  Also got body colour top case thingy and those plastic tank protector wotsits...

Candy red isn't available in the UK. I'm sure it was a USA only colour.

Arabian red is what we have in the UK

Millenium motorcycles in Saint Helens has a candy red one on the shop floor right now, and they pulling mine in from somewhere with the pack on. Hope it looks as good in the sunlight has it does under the shop lights    The American thing is interesting as it comes up on the internet as a concours when looking at the colour on there. Shall check today it is full UK bike or its this  :2guns: for the saleman  :mfr_lol:  Am i wrong to presume it would be?

Our Yankee cousins call the GTR a Concourse

I reckon the colour will look just as good if not better in the sunlight

It's not a Concourse  :nono:  it's the Kawasaki Concours 14.

Yep, the same thing, apart from the sunshine.

This is the only other Red used for the Concours 14. I believe it was a 2009 colour for the USA.

The mini Top Box is a seat hump storage box, it look cool, but would be bloody painful for a pillion  :mfr_lol:

Mini top box is a 10 l trunk smuggler by Corbin, it is interchangeable with Corbin back seat. But yes, also a very good hint that you do not want any pillion !!

Thanks brutha's, glad you like!

I had it painted in 2012 ZX14R green "Golden Blaze Green" just earlier this year, it's got a lot of gold pearl in it that really pops and sparkles in the sun like glitter, doesn't show so much in phone pics...  :undecided:

Here's some more info on the project, grab yer popcorn though it's kind of a long read but has a ton of pics if you want to just scroll through it... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/popcorn.gif) (http://s1200.photobucket.com/user/jaywilcox/media/popcorn.gif.html)

Are you losing it mate? They are identical.  :mfr_lol:
If you are referring to ZGs dual exhaust that is very much not standard. Muzzys system I do believe.

Welcome aboard the UK forum ZG.

No mate, I'm not losing it, if you click the link within ZGs previous post you will see a Connie with a different pipe to the one I see when I'm looking at a UK bike

Also George, if you read my reply to a previous post of ZGs, again you will see that I have commented and complimented his choice of twin pipe set up which I recognised as Muzzies, In fact I've mentioned the Muzzy pipes on numerous occasions in the past within posts on here   :hammer:

Wake up George, seems like you're the one whose losing it    :mfr_lol:

The one of the ZZR1400 with the huge exhaust?

As for me losing it,... did that years ago.
Besides, I'm 50 this year you know.  :mfr_lol:
