i went to another dealers on saturday, they are doing the zzr1400 performance model with all the needed extra's already fitted.
r&g crash bobbin's
r&g tail tidy
r&g radiator cover
ermax tinted screen
akrapovic exhaust
i think a rear hugger & fenda extender was mentioned in a deal
there offer on my 2012 gtr1400 with 6.5k on the clock was £8.700---£200 more than the dealer i normally use,i need to take one out for a longer test ride to see if i can't adapt,i'm going on the line's of not offering it in a private sale,to much hassle,i'll probably simply part ex.i like the gtr but in my opinion it's a tad of an over weight, one may call it a midlife crisis, but while i'm able to do so,GET MY LEG OVER, i'd like a zzr.
If you've had the bike from new, that's a big loss.
Go for it Tapps ... you know you want to .... midlife crisis or what ??? ... I'll be on a Gs before long !  :mfr_lol:
Why does it feel as if everyone is abandoning their GTR's?

Steve, I know what you mean, but its not "everyone" as there's still a great membership on this forum, some who don't have GTRs and those who have had them and changed for something else, and hopefully the latter ones will still visit and contribute from time to time. The bikes they ride might have changed but they haven't.
Personally I'm changing to the big Versys, because it suits my/our personal needs better than the awesome GTR, we won't be touring anymore and I, for a number of reasons, need a lighter bike, the Versys 1000 is over 10 stones lighter than my GTR, that makes a huge difference to me.
I'll still be haunting this forum as I have made, and plan to keep, the great friendship from members that I enjoy on here.

Well said that man!!!!! I echo your sentiments entirely Rog.
:stupid:
This the only forum I regularly visit - it is a great community, started due to a bond over the fantastic GTR, but continued as there is an eclectic mix of people who contribute, serious, humourous, annoying and lovely!
As Roxy Music sang - "Nothing Lasts Forever.... the Same Old Scene"!
The motto of GTr Europe is
Join for the bike stay for the people
i think that applies here as well
Bloody hell, I feel like I've just had a counselling session with a shrink.... :mfr_lol: it was only a light hearted comment. Right I'm just off out for a ride on the Harley. :surrender:

You're right Chris and out of all the forums that I participate in (Ithink there are 7 others) this is right up there amongst the very best
I recall the early GTR forum which was run by Max...anyone remember him ?
Last I heard Max was considering getting another GTR.
Like so many here he just keeps coming back to the GTR.
The rest of you just get itchy feet and have to go shopping for another new bike or you get bored.
Yer like a bunch of bored middle-aged housewives.
Kids have left home, hubby is at work or doing the mistress, so you go shopping, get yer hair done, and go find yourselves a new boytoy!
Some of us are actually committed,.... or we should be. :mfr_lol:

PPs ... Here Here .... this is a great place as we all know ... we all get on and have lots to say and there is always someone contributing new stuff ... I love it !
As I have said before I use the UK Gs'er site too, but only now and then ... as it has years and years of threads and inputs about everything .. especially on the travel sections both UK and abroad so would thoroughly recommend it .. just make sure you come back here !
Well here's a comment from a 53 yr old, who has, over the last 2 years changed from a gtr (ran outbof money and had to sell) to a 2008 Busa (8 monyths later )and to be fair was made up with it for a year or so, then the wife decided she wants to come biking again but doesn't like the Busa...so I decided to revisit the gtr world and I have to say since I got it 2 weeks ago I can't believe what I was missing, it's comfy as hell, easier to ride IMO, and lets be fair, how often do we REALLY go over 160mph, and you can take your butties with you......
No for me it will always be a gtr from now on......but each to his own.
Long live 1400gtr....

i took a zzr out yesterday for a good test ride,i liked it,i've decided to keep the GTR,i can't warrant trading it in & paying another £4.5k for a zzr which is not as comfortable as the GTR.

Well, I've had 'a' GTR since 2008 and love the bike to bits to the point that I still think it looks reasonably up to date (look at the pan or FJR for example). It has enough goodies to keep me occupied and doesn't feel like there is anything out there that will keep both me a SWMBO happy.
Forum wise, I've been member of the original GTR forum (by Max) and a fair amount of people here I got to know from there..... it was great and Max did a great Job. Having said that, I only frequent this forum on a regular basis - its the people here that make it one of the best ..... lets keep it that way..... it really doesn't matter what bike you ride, your interest is either a GTR, will be or has been a GTR and your still interested in 2 wheels. what else is there?
Well done guys and here's to the next 5 years.
Neil
I think the GTR is an awesome bike, i will own and ride one as long as i can, but there will come a time when it will be just too much to handle, be it weight or health, it will not be down to boredom or just fancy a change, only then will i grudginley change. At this moment in time there is no other bike on the planet that floats my boat like the GTR can.
