Well tomorrow I will be off, with three mates, to ride our version of the Bike 8 route in bike magazine
http://www.bikemagazine.co.uk/Bike8/
It will be the first big ride for the GTR this year, last weekends wet weeknd in Wales was only a few hundred miles. We are averaging about 280/290 miles a day, leaving tomorrow, returning home next Saturday.
Lock up your daughters Scotland!
That looks impressive mate .. make sure you take plenty of photos ... hope the weather is good for you.
Got back last night.
We rode exactly the same route as the Bike magazine 8, but took longer with more overnight stops. The guy from the magazine who rode it all in four days must have been in bits by the time he got home.
1600 miles at an average of 52mpg, and an OE back tyre that now has done 4,900 miles from new and is totally shagged. Squared off badly [ but I have rode it to the edge ], which made for some interesting cornering. Bike behaved faultlessly, except when I dropped it at 0mph off the side stand :censored: So now need some new tyres, and some cosmetic repairs, no breakages, just paint scuffs and a bruised leg :embarrassed:
Anyway, pictures to follow.......
The road on the third photo looks appealing. Great location is Scotland, hopefully you took more than four photos, we want too see them all.
WOW !!! What lovely scenery !
And I have to agree with Lonewolf, those roads look awesome.
Deon
Great pics Doebag.... more please
Hope your bruised leg is recovering, bloody big, heavy bike these GTRs
More pictures....
Sadly the weather through Yorkshire and Wales was pretty gloomy and very wet, no one felt the urge to take any pictures later in the tour. But we are going again next year, thinking of doing it in reverse.
The last two are of the view from the B&B bedroom window at Loch Carron.
Lovely lovely lovely .............
And one of a murky looking Windermere ?
Nope, Loch Maree, south west of Ullapool
