i have always rated scorpion exhausts, after my zzr has its first sevice i am fitting a pair, they are not cheap but you get a good guarantee with them ,i dont like the cans with the wrap around brfacket on them ,scorpion do them that attach to your original fixing bracket on your bike frame (well thet do for the zzr ) plenty advertised on e bay ,but i contacted graham at click car parts,i have managed to get a good deal with him ,a lot cheaper than the advertised price, give them a ring if you are interested,i have looked all over for my scorpions and can't get a better deal .but if you know someone let me know cheers keith
Hi
I have the Scorpion fitted. In fact they built the system for the GTR on my bike last year. Sounds really good without being overly loud. I run mine with the baffles in, I don't particularly want it loud anyway. The fit is neat and the can looks spot on. Can't really fault it! Nuff said! This is a pic I took on top of the Puy Mary last June during our trip down through France and Spain.
Chris
Thanks Chaps. I think its one of the nicer looking cans for the GTR. Saving my pennies up for one.

Hey thats mine
nice sound and quality !!!
Go for it!
Ordered :gunsmilie:
Scorpion Can arrived and fitted in under 1/2 hour. Looks good and sound just a wee bit baseier than original, will give it a go with out baffles later. A lot lighter in weight as well.
Really pleased with it.

hi let us know what it is like with the baffle out i have just had a go at taking out my baffle on my zzr and failed ,there is one bolt at the end of the can and the baffle is supposed to pull out couldn't budge mine,so i have left it . scorpion have said it maybe tight with it being new,and to remove the can and knock it through from the other end ,i am too scared incase i damage something ,tell us how you get on
Question:
If the exhaust can body is E marked or BS stamped rather than the baffle been stamped, does that mean your OK to run with the baffles out legally or would Plod see things differently????

all depends on how loud it is ,but i bet it sounds great,i want to try mine just to see what it is like.i think once you have had them out and refitted them the first time , it will be a 5 minute job to remove and refit them after that ,

Taken baffle out, was a very tight fit, can see what you mean Keith, but it did come out without having to remove it off the bike and knock through from the other end. Perhaps a bit of WD40 or such like would help.
Sounds great without the baffle in, very deep base, but not overly loud, not to OTT, I`v heard a lot louder standard cans out and about.
Will leave baffles out now and report back how it goes.
well done on the removal of your baffle, what did you use to get it out,as i said mine is really tight, and dont want to damage anything.knowing my luck i will knack them.!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just undid the screw and hooked it out, with a bit of a twist and a yank at the same time with my fingers. Was a bit of a tight fit but once I got it started it slid out a treat.
gordon bennet you must have mole grip fingers !!!
Keith its the inner part you need trying to pull out, the outer ring is part of the main exhaust body and stays in place.

I fancy having a go at making her a duel exhaust bike. Is it as simple as getting the headers off an 08 ZZR1400, my GTR been a A8F model and a left hand ZZR1400 Scorpion
can???? Or is that too easy????
thanks for the picture ,that may make it a bit easier for me i may have been pulling on the outer ring, dont know about changing your pipes ,sure someone will come along with more knowledge, but if not contact a dealer, you should be able to get the headers off e bay, they would clean up nicely when they are off the bike,i found the cheapest place for the scorpions was click parts on e bay ,(they will negotiate,)they were cheaper than scorpion direct by £70.00.the gtr would look a lot better with twin cans, dont no if there are any issues routing the nearside pipe as i aint got a gtr now, unfortunatley i havent won the lottery and cant afford two bikes ,unlike someone else who frequents this and other sites!!!!good luck if you sort it please post. some pics
well i never undid the fixing bolt, nipped the inner ring with a pair of long nosed mole grips, pulled on the grips and gave them a tap with a hammer at the same time, no problem, i dont know what all the fuss was about!!, they are louder but not a great deal at least other road users will be more aware i am there now, i will run with them out for a while and see what it is like, hopefuly going out for a ride now before the rain starts, thanks again for the picture,
You can use the ZZR1400 headers apart from 2 problems.
There are no Cats or Lambda sensors in those so you will need Lambda Sensor Eliminators (available on Ebay).
You will need to modify the centrestand and make your own bracket to hold the left silencer.
Otherwise yer good to go.
Join the COG-ONLINE forum. Lots of Norte Americano riders have done this on theirs.
Finally, if they ever introduce emissions testing for the GTR you will need to put the old headers back on.
