Landed on my bike in Central London ... A message in a little plastic tube tied to one of his little legs ... Something about Little Versys Big Versys. ... Ale Pies and pink something or other ??? !!
Any ideas from the Northern Brigade ?? :mfr_lol:
Rusty, funnily enough I was int Bradford market earlier buying some tripe & sweatbreads for our lass to have for her tea when I saw a newspaper vendors stand which said summit about some old geezer from up north near't Lakes trading in a GTR and another bike for a Versys 1000.
Didn't think owt of it at first but maybe your pigeon was trying to pass on an urgent message. :whistling:
Crikey ..... It must be so much more important than I first thought .... I shall make my way straight to M15 and see if they can decipher it ..... Stand by....
Nope .... They haven't got a clue ... " Never seen anything like it before " ... They are sending it to NASA :mfr_lol:
I'll have a word wiv our Norfen korespondent, correspondant, geezer from up Leyburn & see if he can shed any light on't matter

Typical... the "old boy" tells me the small versys is the best thing since sliced bread then goes and gets the bigger versys :hammer:
Dave, you're not gonna go and follow suit are you?

 steve I wanted a commuter for work and to run around on  don't want or need another big engine bike  let's be honest here! how can you better a zzr1441
OK OK OK It was me, I done it guv. Lock me up and throw the keys away. Yes I have sold the GTR, great bike that it is, me and my good lady decided that it is highly unlikely that we will tour abroad again, So decided to get something that we hope will be better suited to our present needs. After buying the 650 Versys, and really enjoying what that bike can do, I started to think that maybe the big Versys could fulfil both tasks that I ask my bikes to do, So a test ride was booked for last Thursday, and I borrowed MCO Orrells demonstrator and off back to Dales I went, I had the bike for 5 hours and apart from a couple of things, I loved the bike. As some of you know I still like to have a bit of fun on my bikes, and this bike was LOTS of fun. The upshot of all this is that I have chopped both my bikes in for the big Versys, and had a few quid tucked in my pocket as well. If anyone on here knows anyone wanting a GTR mine is at MCO and is absolutely 100% mint and wants for nothing. Hope to still see some of you folk around, and I will still pop back here to see what is happening. Safe biking everybody. Geoff.  ps Who spilled the beans?

The versys came out very well in the MCN adventure test recently ( 2nd) got a good write up, especially the engine. Sad you px'd the GTR but things have to move on, i hope you have many great miles and smiles on it.

my apologies steve :surrender: but in my defence, I wrongly assumed that what you don't know.. is not with knowing :mfr_lol:
I'm still trying to fathom out whether that was intended as a compliment or an insult. :mfr_lol:

Dave, in fairness, everyone is bigger than you. I'm not sure when I will change my bike but when I do it will either be to a newer GTR or I'll go for the BMW. The ZZR frightens me....so that's a  .

Asif, if you are looking for a GTR mine would be perfect for you.
Good luck with the new steed, mate. I hope it performs all those tasks that you require of it.
I had a bit of a dodgy moment on Friday when some utter :censored: parked a 1600GTL right outside my apartment. Naturally I had to have a word with him and he told me that the clutch as well as the throttle is fly by wire!! Didn't know that!
Anyway, all back to normal now because he said that it cost him TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND EURO !!!!! I mean bloody hell!!
Must... Not... Sell... GTR
I wonder what the big reservoir on the left 'bar is for on my K16 then?
Geoff ... clearly pictures will be required when the new bike arrives. Sounds great ! Enjoy and let us all know how you get on with it.
I cant do pictures, so I shall get my buddy Roger to do the honours after he gets back from baking himself. I have just spent ages flogging stuff from the little Versys on the Versys forum, then spent a small fortune on new bits for the big un.
