Title: Attn 100milesaway and Olde Coney
Post by: BigAlan on April 27, 2013, 09:04:42 AM
Morning guys.

We have the usual bunch of reprobates in the pub who want to experience the pink armband guided tour up in your part of the world and I have been tasked with trying to organise something.

So firstly would you welcome a bunch of southern softies coming up and if so have you any dates you can't do?

Basically I suspect we might prefer June/July time but cane be flexible depending on you guys.

Thanks
Alan

Alan, I thought you were never going to ask again after last years fiasco :embarrassed: , what with none of your Southern nancy boys being able to gel, and get on with us Northern numpties :hammer:  :death: , the constant squabbling :censored: .  The language barrier was also a major problem, as we speak English up here, and people from down saaaarf dont, and the weather whilst you were here was  :shit: :boat: , and your lot complained all the time that the roads in the Dales were boring   , and full of traffic jams. Plus your lot never stopped complaining about the fact that they were missing their wives and kids.                 Erm, hang on a minute it was none of that  .                So yes from me, it would be great to see you and the lads again swooping around gods country, and enjoying every minute of it.  I'm busy June 7/8 but any other time is fine for me.         I'm looking forward to it already.      Bring it on

What did he say? Not a chuffing clue, actually that's great, I will report back to the lads and see what we can arrange, tomorrow three of us are going down to Weymouth to arrange a faulty towers weekend for September so we can get the word out.

Will be in touch soon Geoff and thanks a lot.

Hey, Alan, no probs from me the rear gunner  :mfr_lol:  you can turn up with the suvvern lads anytime,  June is however looking like a busy month as I'm undergoing treatment, or at least that's when I've been told its due to start...

You can count on me, and you'll get to sample some more of our legendary norvern hospitality, which may again include some fish & chips, superb twisty roads sun drenched stunning villages and a dazzling display of Pink armbands  :mfr_lol:

God, are you stupid or what you lot,?  :mfr_lol: The first half of my ramble, was all the things that DIDN'T  happen when the boys came up last year   It's called humour. Have you lot led a sheltered life, and just dont GET it?                                                       Alan, will you be staying nearer to the Dales next time, so that we can show you some of Rogers playground in the Lakes as well?.     I'm getting exited already.

Gents.

Knowing that the pink arm band man is old and retired and Rog does not do a lot would it be as easy if we rode up on a Sunday, had a tour around gods county on the Monday and then we rode back on the Tuesday?

Or would you prefer weekends?

Thanks
Alan

100milesaway I can understand, the other guy must be a foreigner.

We're reckoning on either Friday 19th July or Sunday 21st July but we need to meet in our local and sort it so will advise as soon as I know.

Ok lads, the dates are the Sunday 21st we will ride up, we can meet you on the Monday 22nd and wander around, fish and chips in Hawes would be good, then we ride back Tuesday 23rd.

Can you organise the weather and we can do the rest, I will confirm meeting point before then obviously.

We are looking forward already as this is motorcycle heaven as far as we are concerned.

Now I guess Olde Coney will start some foreign communication which I shall ignore.

Alan I don't personally have any knowledge of Ilkley Accomodation, I'm not sure if Geoff does

Are you looking for B & B ?

B & B is what we're after, my daughters father in law live in Ilkley so can get the info there, but anywhere would be good.

Lots of B&B in Ingleton, which would be a lot nearer to the action, Plus the scottish lads seemed to enjoy their stay in Hawes.

Right gentlemen, well Geoff and Rog anyways, we are booking the Herriots hotel in Hawes which looks pretty reasonable for the 21-22nd July which as you remember is the Sunday and Monday, we will ride up on the Sunday and drink beer etc in the afternoon and talk rubbish as usual, then on the Monday if you could be so good as to lead five old guys around the countryside we would be very happy.

We have four of the same lads, ie me, Bob on his brand new FJR, Steve on his TL1000, Graham on his Suzuki 1250 and a new man Geoff on his Sprint ST.

I have your mobile Geoff so we can liaise on a meeting point nearer the time. I am booking the hotel tomorrow.

Thanks
Alan

Alan, What a good do!!!. I am already starting to polish the pink armbands. Would you and the boys like to stay in the Dales, or venture up into the lakes?. Either way as you know you cant go wrong with the roads, lets just hope that the weather plays its part. Just need the rear gunner  :tank:  to confirm that everything is ok for him. Over to you Rog  .

Had a bit of a trial run out yesterday, a bit of the Dales, and a lot of the Lakes. I just have to consult the rear gunner now, so we can incorporate the good bits of both to make a great day out.                   Rog, we shall talk about it on Wednesday.

Worry not Alan.    It's all in hand

And in Hand it was, met up with Geoff Monday morning and went north, actually north and up to be precise, up mountains and the like we did, all around Windemere and all sorts, hours and hours of excellent riding in hot weather and a guide who not only knew the route but we had a history lesson as well.

All in all the second time Geoff has done the honours and again top notch, thanks Geoff, and next year hopefully Roger and Asif can come along again.

Time for bed.

Glad you had a good day out Al, I spoke with Geoff about the route, which he'd planned, and it sounded great, twas good too that the weather was so nice.

Sorry I couldn't be there to meet you again, I know that Geoff explained my circumstances.............maybe next year ?
